Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort Review
Disneyland in California has 3 Disney owned hotels and over 57 Good Neighbor hotels. If one of the Disney owned hotels are not in your budget, there are lots of affordable Good Neighbor Hotels within walking distance to both Disneyland and California Adventure.
Good Neighbor Hotel
The Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort and Convention Center is one of the good neighbor hotels that provides affordability and large space for families. Booking a good neighbor hotel is a great option because families can book room and ticket packages.
Guests booking packages with receive a Magical Extras discount card along with a free Disney pin and lanyard. In order for hotels to be part of the Good Neighbor hotel network they must met certain standards defined by Disney.
Booking a good neighbor package only requires a $200 deposit. The rest is not due until 30 days prior to travel. Disney Visa card members can also use their credit card to book the package and utilize the free 6-month financing with the card.
Location
The Hyatt Place is located about 2 miles from Disneyland and California Adventure. The location is on Harbour Boulevard making it an easy route. It took us about 30 minutes to talk to the park from the hotel. Anaheim also has city busses that provide bus transportation to the parks. The Anaheim bus is an additional fee.
Dining
Hyatt Place offers complimentary breakfast included in your stay. The breakfast buffet includes both hot and cold food. It includes scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, fruit, cereal, juices, and coffee. The breakfast buffet is similar to complimentary breakfasts at most hotels.
Recreation
The hotel features an outdoor heated pool and hot tub. It also has a fitness center.
Accommodations
The largest benefit of this hotel are the rooms. The standard room features two queen beds and a queen sleeper sofa. The hotel also offers family suites that have a king bed, bunk bed, and a queen size sleeper sofa. The family suite can sleep up to 6 guests making it a top spot for large families.
Our room featured a corner room layout and we had two queen beds, a queen sleeper sofa, a dining table, and small kitchenette. We have status with Hyatt, so we received a room upgrade to the spacious two queen room. The room was approximately 600 square feet.
Final Thoughts
The Hyatt Place is a great hotel with lots of space for families, modern and functional rooms, and free breakfast. The only negative with this resort is that it does take about 30 minutes to walk to the parks. It is an easy walk but can be a deterrent for some families.
