Disney World is Making Adjustments To Lightning Lane Attractions & Extra Morning Magic Hours
Its been nearly two months since Disney Genie+ was officially unveiled at Walt Disney World. For those unfamiliar, Genie+ replaces Disney’s original FastPass system with a new paid for system. Under Genie+, guests pay $15 per day per person for front-of-the-line passes to several rides and attractions at each theme park. In addition there are Lightning Lane ala carte attractions. These are Disney World’s premium rides and ARE NOT included in the regular Disney Genie+ plan but rather guests can pay to ride these on an individual basis with prices ranging from $8 – $20 per ride per person.
After several weeks of trial and error, Disney World has made the decision to adjust some of the rides in the a la carte Lightning Lanes category moving them to the regular Genie+ category. This spells good news for those visiting during the holiday season as means that you’ll actually spend less cash on these headliners.
Added to Disney Genie+
Disney World announced today that from December 19, 2021 – January 3, 2022 the following attractions will NOW be included in the Disney Genie+ system and will NO LONGER be included in the pay per ride Lightning Lane option:
- Magic Kingdom – Space Mountain
- EPCOT- Frozen Ever After
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain.
Must Still Purchase As Individual Lightning Lane
It should be noted that guests wishing to ride the following attractions at Walt Disney World will still need to purchase the individual Lightning Lane options during the dates listed above:
- Magic Kingdom – Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- EPCOT – Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Star Wars Rise of the Resistance
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Avatar Flight of Passage
Extended Early Morning Magic Hours
In addition, Walt Disney World also announced that from December 19, 2021 – January 3, 2022, the early theme park entry benefit for Disney Resort hotel Guests and Guests of other select hotels WILL BE EXTNEDED from 30 minutes each morning to 60 minutes!
