It’s Time For Storybook Dining at Artist Point
For those unfamiliar, Storybook Dining at Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge Resort was one of the newest character dining experiences to be introduced to Walt Disney World before the pandemic hit. After the theme park closure, this special table service dining experience with Snow White, Evil Queen, Seven Dwarfs and friends was closed UNTIL NOW!
That’s right, the beloved Storybook Dining has reopening tonight and MickeyBlog is there at the first dinner to bring you all the incredible highlights!
Let’s just pause for a moment and appreciate the positively stunning tree in the Wilderness Lodge lobby. Storybook Dining is a great holiday dining option because no one does the holidays quite like Wilderness Lodge.
Here we are approaching the check-in desk!
In what we thought was a really nice touch, there were works of art inspired by Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs available to purchase in the check-in area.
A
Artist Point is such a lovely dining room that we are so glad we get to enjoy its ambiance once again!
Oh, and if you have a bit of a wait for your dining experience, the adjacent Territory Lounge is open for cocktails!
As always, the cast members welcoming us were absolutely fantastic!
Just check out those big smiles!
And of course a big thumbs up!
We had one of the earliest dining times so people were just starting to arrive when it was time for us to be seated!
He we are heading to our table!
Oh, we wanted to show you quickly the fun adornments that have been added to the nametags of the cast members at Storybook Dining!
How cute is that!?
Here’s one of the backdrops for the photo ops you can enjoy during your dinner!
The dining room was as whimsical and wonderful as we remembered.
There’s lots of greenery and a real enchanted forest feel!
The dining room is nice and spacious and all tables were distanced.
Some of the tables even boast beautiful window views of this rustic resort property!
Adding a fairy tale touch are the cute serving trays on the table.
Here’s a closer look at how the table was arranged when we arrived!
First up were the cocktails!
Above is a look at the Enchanted Apple.
This libation features Sky Infusions Citrus Vodka, DeKuyper Pucker Sour Apple and White Cranberry Juice.
Its a delicious start to the meal and the presentation with the apple slice is beautiful.
This cocktail retails for $14.00.
Then there’s the drink you see above which is The Smoking Mirror. This theatrical cocktail features Johnnie Walker Black, Wildberry, Lime and Rosemary Smoke! You can order one of your own for $14.00.
The first course consists of Shared Appetizers. They’re all brought out together and added to the different levels of the table display!
Everything looks so lovely that we don’t know where to start.
Let’s give you a little breakdown of the options!
Kicking things off is the Wicked Shrimp Cocktail. It comes with a Bloody Mary Vinaigrette, Seaweed Salad and Spiced House-made Seasoning.
Perfectly fitting for this storybook encounter is the Wild Mushroom Bisque.
It comes with a Crispy Mushroom.
Elyssa is vegetarian so she was also treated to this beautiful Veggie Spring Roll! YUM!
And last, but certainly not least is the Hunter’s Pie. These little savory pies are made with Turkey and Chicken, Black Truffle, Cranberry Preserve and Crispy Sauerkraut!
Next up are the mains. Unlike the appetizers, each guest gets to choose one option.
First up is a dish called “A Stroll Through Nature.”
The dish features Asparagus, Leeks, Arugula, Gnocchi, Sage and Parmesan.
Next up is the Prime Rib!
This dish comes with Horseradish Mashed Potatoes and one of the best looking Yorkshire Pudding’s we’ve ever seen!
Now it’s time for the star of the show and the reason we’re all here! Snow White! (and the other characters of course.)
The original Disney Princess was looking absolutely wonderful this evening!
She was very animated and had the whole dining room engaged and excited!
Character dining has changed a little bit due to the pandemic.
The characters will still make the rounds and try to engage and interact with everyone!
However, they no longer make close contact to pose for photos.
They also no longer sign autograph books.
However, in the case of Show White she was very happy to stop and pose for photos.
Some diners were even getting selfies with her in the distance.
Snow White really went out of her way to make all of the guests feel special.
She was very talkative as you can see from these photos!
She was wearing her traditional gown.
She fit perfectly with her surroundings!
All she was missing were her little animated forest friends!
It wasn’t long before she left our area of the dining room.
There were many other guests that she needed to say hello to!
She also had to make way for some other “little friends” who were about to visit.
I wonder who they could be!?
It wasn’t long before there was another bustle of activity!
Why it’s Grumpy and Dopey!
What a funny duo these two are!
Dopey was as delightful as ever. Here he is skipping over to our table!
As you can see from the video, he really took his time with all of the guests!
And Grumpy….
Well he was particularly grumpy!
Just look at that sour look on his face.
But despite his slightly off-putting demeanor, he also really took his time with the guests.
Even if it was just to have a grumble or two!
We managed to get a handful of awesome photos of Grumpy in action.
We love the way he has his arms crossed in these images.
You can’t help but smile at his grumpy ways!
It wasn’t long before it was time to say our good-byes.
Then it was off to work he went!
Next up, it was time for shared dessert!
Three treats were placed on our enchanted tree display!
Below is a look at the Gooseberry Tart.
It features Meringue and Gooseberry and was delicious!
Next treat is the Poison Apple. Isn’t this a beautiful goodie?
This treat consists of a Dark Chocolate-Apple Mousse and has a Sour Center.
This next dessert is know as the Miner’s Treasure.
At the center is a Cookies ‘n Cream Panna Cotta.
As you can see it also comes with some delicious Chocolate Gems.
Who is ready to get a bit Silly!?
Is it me or is there a sudden chill in the air!?
It’s none other than the Evil Queen who decided to greet us with her Villainous presence.
She was looking as formidable as always.
She swept through each of the dining rooms to glare over the proceedings.
We suspect she was waiting for us to tell her that she was the fairest of them all.
One thing we will say is that she does like to be adored by her royal subjects.
She did spend time posing and pouting while guests took pictures.
She was certainly on the lookout for Snow White.
But we refused to give the princess’s whereabouts away!
We did have plenty of time though to get a photo or two of her fabulous outfit.
Check out her beautiful crown.
We’re also a fan of the HUGE gem broach!
She is nothing short of chilling!
But it was a fun experience having her crash the party!
A very special surprise was revealed as the finale to our delectable dinner!
A magical chest was brought over to our table!
It opened with a big puff of smoke.
Inside were some delectable chocolate treats for guests to sample.
This made such a nice theatrical touch to the end of the meal!
And they were delicious. You can check out their official unveiling below.
In lieu of autograph books, souvenir cards were handed out to all the diners.
One side featured the signatures of all of the characters we had the pleasure of meeting.
The other side featured images from the classic Disney film!
