Disney+ Finally Updated For New Apple SharePlay
As part of the June iOS release from Apple, users could utilize FaceTime video calls to watch a variety of entertainment with friends and family virtually together in a service called SharePlay. Today, Disney+ announced that it will finally join the extensive list of streaming providers utilizing the FaceTime serivce.
According to TechCrunch, Disney+ joined the ranks of entertainment providers supporting SharePlay after a number of popular providers previously signed on, including the NBA, Twitch, Paramount+, Showtime, and TikTok. Of course, SharePlay also works with Apple TV+ as well as other entertainment apps within the company. The update took months, as Disney+ “first announced during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June,” according to the article.

Disney+ released an udpate today that will enable its users to maximize their experience using SharePlay, according to the same TechCrunch article.

SharePlay Debuts in Time for Holidays
The update certainly came just in time with popular Disney+ shows like Marvel’s “Hawkeye” winding down and Lucasfilm’s “Book of Boba Fett” released in 15 days. Of course, other family favorites like the recently released “Luca,” “Ron’s Gone Wrong,” and the December 24th Disney+ release of “Encanto” certainly make excellent choices this holiday season.
On Disney+ Day this year, the streaming service also debuted “Home Sweet Home Alone,” adding to that hilarious holiday film franchise. Check out all of the classic Disney holiday films and shorts too the feature prominently now.
