Check Out How Disney Theme Parks Around The World Celebrate The Holidays
It’s the most wonderful time of the year but not just for Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Let’s head across the pond to see how some of Disney’s other theme parks around the globe celebrate the holiday season!
Disneyland Paris
The holiday festivities over at Disneyland Paris includes new and returning entertainment, delectable eats and treats and beautiful season décor. Best of all, the celebration lasts until January 9th.
A highlight of your Disneyland Paris visit is sure to be “Disney Illuminations” a dazzling show that returns on December 21st to light up the night sky with a seasonal celebration of music, fireworks and light projections.
A whole host of fabulous Disney friends will be out to celebrate from Mickey Mouse to Disney’s beloved Princesses. We even heard that Santa Claus will be making an appearance in the all-new “Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas parade!”
Be sure to bring your appetites to tuck into seasonal dishes like stuffed turkey or the Christmas Yule Log. Other highlights include Minnie’s Christmas tartlet and and Olaf’choc’o’neige.
Hong Kong Disneyland
It’s a snowy holiday staycation at Hong Kong Disneyland with “A Disney Christmas” happening at the park through January 2nd. This festive event will be brimming your favorite characters, fun festival experiences and rumor has it, even a bit of snowfall!
As the sun goes down, the iconic Christmas Tree will be illuminated during “Holiday-Wish-Com-True Tree Lighting Ceremony. Main Street U.S.A will also be dusted with snow for an extra bit of ambiance. Be sure to set aside some time to stroll through the Fantasy Gardens Wintertime Market where you’ll find snacks, drinks, seasonal merchandise and special photo ops!
Fans of Duffy will also be pleased to know that the Disney bear and friends will be taking part in a brand-new holiday processional called “A Holiday Gift of Cheer with Duffy and Friends.” You’ll definitely want to have your cameras at the ready to catch the gang in their new winter outfits. Speaking of gang, Mickey Mouse and Friends will also be taking part in the “Mickey and Friends Christmastime Ball” in front of the Castle of Magical Dreams for an all-singing, all-dancing stage show.
Santa Goofy also gets his own stage show “Santa Goofy’s Magical Snowfall” where what comes alive to dance as snowflakes gently fall!
Marty’s General Store is the place to go for holiday shopping with fun seasonal gifts like snow bubble wands, advent calendar box sets, ornaments, home decor and more. You can also indulge in traditional holiday meals across the resort. Noteworthy treats include Christmas Mickey chicken pie, chocolate churros, Tokachi Red Bean Ice Cream and Donut Lollipops. Popcorn carts will also be selling souvenir Golden Christmas Tree and Toy Story buckets.
Shanghai Disney Resort
Come and see the winter wonderland at Shanghai Disney Resort this holiday season complete with special entertainment and dazzling holiday decor seemingly around every corner. The festivities will last through January 3rd.
Other highlights including picture-perfect selfie locations, ice sculptures themed after Frozen and special appearances from the one-and-only Santa Goofy!
Tokyo Disney Resort
You’ll want to kick off your Christmas visit to Tokyo Disney Resort with “Happy Holidays, Mickey!” and “Christmas Swing” two shows featuring Mickey, Minnie and friends. These shows take place on Mickey Avenue each day during the holiday season.
In the evenings Enchanted Storybook Castle and Gardens of Imagination will come to life as Queen Elsa shares her magic in “Frozen Snow Celebration.” You can also watch the dazzling tress become illuminated in “Mickey’s Magical Tree Lighting Ceremony.”
At Tokyo Disney Resort, there will also be a special parade featuring some of your favorite Disney friends dressed up in their holiday best. Over at Tokyo DisneySea, Mickey Mouse and pals will also be celebrating past Christmas events from the park’s history with colorful costumes and performances that will change throughout the holiday season!
Disney chefs are also cooking up a storm with seasonal menus including Christmas wreath-shaped shepherd’s pie, chocolate-flavored churros and so much more. Oh, and over at Tokyo DisneySea, cheese lovers will be able to indulge in a cheese-themed meal as part of the Seasonal Taste Selections series!
