Lightning Lane Pricing Revealed For Disneyland
Today is the day Disney friends! If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog you’ll know that the Disney Genie+ system is officially kicking off at the Happiest Place on Earth this morning. We just updated our Disneyland App with the NEW Genie+ functionality and we wanted to share a first look with you. With this information also comes further details on Lightning Lane pricing which will help you budget for the parks.
Let’s take a closer look:
First, just a reminder that if you have plans to head to Disneyland this holiday season, you’ll definitely want to update the Disneyland App now! With the arrival of Disney Genie+ comes a whole host of new tools which requires a download.
Updating your app now means that you won’t have to worry about it while you’re at the parks making those all important Genie+ or Lightning Lane reservations.
When logging on guests will now see a new dashboard directing you to Lightning Lane and Genie+ options!
For those unfamiliar, there are now two different paid for Lightning Lane options which replace the FastPass/MaxPass system at Disneyland going forward. With Genie+ guests pay a flat fee of $15 per day per person and can than access a whole host of Lightning Lane attractions. Similar to the previous MaxPass system guests can book one attraction at a time throughout the day.
Then there are Individual Lightning Lane Purchases or as Disney likes to call them a la carte rides. You can consider these premium Disney attractions. You buy these one at a time and the cost of booking these depends on the attraction. Disneyland has previously said that the cost would be anywhere for $7 – $20 per person per ride. Like the Walt Disney World system, pricing can change by day of the week or time of year.
Disneyland Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane Options:
Above you can see a breakdown of both the a la carte and Genie+ Lightning Lane options at Disneyland theme park.
There is only one Individual Lightning Lane option:
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
There are several Disneyland attractions available with the standard $15 a day Genie+ option. These are as follows:
- Autopia
- Big thunder Mountain Railroad
- Haunted Mansion
- Indiana Jones Adventure
- “It’s a small world”
- Matterhorn Bobsleds
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
- Roger Rabbit’s Car toon Spin
- Space Mountain
- Splash Mountain
- Star Tours – The Adventure Continues
Disney California Adventure Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane Options:
Over at Disney California Adventure there are two theme rides that must be paid for a la carte as Individual FastPass options. These are as follows:
- Radiator Springs Racers
- WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure
Standard Genie+ Lightning Lane options at Disney California Adventure (the $15 per person per day option) includes the following attractions:
- Goofy Sky School
- Grizzly River Run
- Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
- Incredicoaster
- Monsters Inc. Mickey & Sulley to the Rescue!
- Soarin’ Around the World
- Toy Story Midway Mania!
For those still confused about how the new Lightning Lane System works, the Disneyland app now includes a guide that walks your through the process.
It explains the differences (similar to what I did above) between Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane purchases.
It also has important details on when and how to make your selections.
PRICING:
The updates also now give us an indication of what the Individual Lightning Lane Pricing will be for the attractions we mentioned above. Let’s take a closer look at each.
We’ll start with the attraction that EVERYONE wants to know about and that is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Lightning Lane purchases were available for the ride starting today and as you can see from our screenshot above, they were $20 per person per ride. That means a family of four would pay $80 if opting for the Individual Lightning Lane option for this attraction.
Things are a bit more affordable over at Disney California Adventure. Let’s start with Radiator Springs Racers. As you can see from the image above, there is now a new page for the attractions. It indicates whether Genie+ or Lightning Lanes can be used for the attraction and then links to purchasing options.
As you can see from the image above, Individual Lightning Lane passes were available for Radiator Springs Racers as of this morning for a cost of $7 per person per ride. That means a family of 4 would pay $28 for front-of-the-line access to these attractions.
Lastly, that brings us to WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure in the Avengers Campus. Individual Lightning Lane passes were also available for this ride as of this morning. The cost for this was also $7 per person per ride.
Guests should note that both the Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane options are optional. Visitors to both parks still have the option of waiting in stand-by lines for all of the attractions listed above. It should also be noted that Individual Lightning Lane pricing is subject to change.
