Figment Celebrates the Holidays, Ugly Sweater and All
The royal purple pigmented dragon, Figment, received a touch of holiday splendor just in time for EPCOT to begin its Festival of the Holidays today. The loveable fellow now sports a blue knit ugly sweater throughout the Journey into Imagination with Figment attraction.
Figment first shares his new sweater in the Sound Lab as he introduces guests to all of the ways that they can use such an important sense. The yellow-eyed horned vision of the Dreamfinder’s imagination certainly wields a variety of noises, including the blaring horn of an approaching freight train.
The bright blue and white holiday knit also pops up on Figment at other stops in the attraction, including when he takes over the tour of the Imagination Institue from Dr. Nigel Channing, played by actor Eric Idle.
The sweater itself uses seasonal snowflakes to celebrate the holidays. It also features the EPCOT icon for Imagination proudly in the sweater’s center.
The throwback logo features prominently now in a new flag at the front of EPCOT as well. The Journey to Imagination now sits in the neighborhood known as World Nature along with the Seas and the Land pavillions.

Just as the decades before, it’s hard not to find oneself humming along to “One Little Spark” throughout the second half of the ride, which harkens back to earlier versions of the attraction. Figment’s creativity completely takes over, celebrating what can happen when people use their imaginations.
The EPCOT Festival of the Holidays officially began today with festive food booths and a plethora of holiday-themed entertainment and decor. The festival runs from now until December 30th.
