Disney Audio-Animatronics have been state-of-the-art technology since their development in 1963. Well, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, revealed Disney Imagineers bringing characters of all shapes and sizes to life!
Audio-Animatronics, Always Impressive
The innovative technology used to create Audio-Animatronics continues to impress Guests throughout Disney Parks. These beloved characters have awed audiences since the original Enchanted Tiki Room in Disneyland.
Surely, some good memories arise when thinking of some of the most impressive Audio-Animatronics. Try to remember how you felt the first time you saw Jack Sparrow on Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Al in Country Bear Jamboree, or Mr. Potato Head in the Toy Story Mania queue.
More recently, the Kylo Ren Audio-Animatronic on Rise of the Resistance is just a life-like as the real person. In addition, seeing the Na’vi Shaman is the main reason to ride Na’vi River Journey in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Hence, more impressive characters will soon join those listed above around Disney Parks. Authentic, impressive Disney Audio-Animatronics will bring even more characters to life!

Right now, Disney Imagineers are developing a full-body exoskeleton system. This exoskeleton’s nickname is called “Project EXO.”
Even though it is still in early concept development, Josh D’Amaro and the rest of the team shared a glimpse at today’s Destination D23 event. Indeed, this is the future of Disney Parks.

Potential Characters
Immediately, I can imagine a couple characters developed in the future of Disney Audio-Animatronics. The first is Ralph from Wreck-It Ralph, and the second is Yeti from Monster’s Inc. This would be so awesome!
