D23 Reveals List of Events for 2022
I think we can all agree that 2021 was a slight improvement from 2020 and if this D23 announcement is anything to go by 2022 will be even better for Disney fans! Disney’s Official Fan Club has just announced all of the exciting events that they’ll have coming up for members next year and there is a TON of stuff to be excited about.
But don’t take our word for it. Let’s dive right in and take a look at the events!
D23 EXPO 2022
An annual highlight for Disney Fans, D23 EXPO 2022 will take place on September 9, 10, and 11th at the Anaheim Convention Center. During this weekend event, guests will be treated to the latest from Disney Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel. This includes the unveiling of incredible plans for the 100th Anniversary of The Walt Disney Company.
Other highlights will include more panels and presentations that every before! You won’t want to miss this celebration of all things Disney include film, television, streaming, theme parks, products, digital music, live entertainment and more all under one roof!
Tickets are required and can be purchased at the D23 website beginning on January 20th.

WALT’S MARCELINE
If you’re a Disney fan you’ll know that the town Walt lived in as a child would inspire much of his work including Main Street U.S.A. D23 Members will have a chance to explore Marceline, Missouri including a stop at the Walt Disney Hometown Museum where you can enjoy local treats, mingle with special guests and more.
This will be a limited capacity full-day event. Keep following along with us for further details!
DAVE SMITH WINDOW DEDICATION
This is one of my favorite Disney tradtions! On January 24, 2022, D23 members will have the opportunity to celebrate the life and legacy of Walt Disney Archives found and Disney Legend Dave Smith. During this time Smith will be given his own window on Main Street U.S.A in Disneyland. There will even be a special presentation for D23 members during park hours!
BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY
On January 29, 2022 get ready to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Bedknobs and Broomsticks at the very place it was made- The Walt Disney Studios lot. This event will include a special screening of the film and a chance to see items from the film on display at the Walt Disney Archives.
GALACTIC MEMBER MIXER
Great your very own Canteen Scene from Star Wars on May the 1st with a Member Mixer. The event will be held as part of Star Wars Celebration at the Anaheim Convention Center.
THE WALT DISNEY STUDIOS OFFICIAL TOUR – PRESENTED BY D23:
What better way to celebrate nearly a century of Walt Disney Company magic than with this official Studios tour! Guests will be welcomed back to the lot for studio tours that provide a unique perspective on historic moments from Disney films, television shows, and theme parks. You can even look inside The Walt Disney Archives and be inspired by Walt’s office suite!
FAN-FAVORITE MILESTONE ANNIVERSARIES:
We’ve got a few beloved films that will be celebrating big anniversaries in 2022. This includes
- 20th Anniversary of Lilo & Stitch
- 25th Anniversary of Hercules
- 30th Anniversary of Aladdin
- 30th Anniversary of The Muppet Christmas Carol.
D23 will be celebrating each of these milestones with virtual and in person events!
D23 NIGHTS WITH DISNEY THEATRICAL
D23 has promised that 2022 will bring more D23 nights than ever before at two musical productions- The North American tours of Disney’s The Lion King and Disney’s Frozen. D23 members will be able to take advantage of special ticket packages as well as post-show Q&A’s with members of the cast.
The festivities kick off in Austin and St. Louis for The Lion King and Atlanta and Orlando for Frozen.
MORE MAGIC WITH WALT DISNEY IMAGINEERING
In 2022 Walt Disney Imagineering will be providing more magical insights to D23 than ever. The D23 x Walt Disney Imagineering Magical Milestones virtual event series will look at the past and future of Disney parks around the globe. A special focus will be on Disneyland Paris which will be celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary!
SIGNATURE EVENTS
Last, but not least are signature events that will be held at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana and Graceland in Memphis. D23 members will also have the unique opportunity to enjoy traveling exhibitions including advance at opening night screenings at incredible theaters including the El Capitan, AMC Disney Springs (at Walt Disney World) and more!
Walt Disney Imagineering’s exclusive merchandise will also be available at Mickey’s of Glendale which will open its doors to members. In addition D23 will celebrate Halloween with a Hocus Pocus-themed event and the fan favorite – Light Up The Season will also return next December.
