Orlando International Airport Is Prepared for the Pre-Pandemic Crowds Expected During the Thanksgiving Holiday
One of the busiest travel times is approaching, and the Orlando International Airport says they are ready. TSA fully expects the number of travelers to rebound to pre-coronavirus pandemic levels. “We are prepared,” TSA administrator Pekoske told ABC’s “Good Morning America.” He said travelers should expect long lines at airports and plan to spend a little more time getting through security.
In 2019, 26 million passengers and crew traveled in the 11-day period around the Thanksgiving holiday. But they dropped to an all-time low in 2020 due to the pandemic.
Stressing about the long lines? The Orlando Internation Airport has implemented a new “Reservation Lane” that will get you through security faster. This new Reservation Lane will allow passengers, families or solo travelers, to arrive at a specific time, scan their reservation, and enter through a shorter, exclusive line.
This program is only offering time slots between 5am and 11am. They will evaluate the demand for it to possibly extend the time slots available throughout the day.
The Reservation Lane is free to all travelers and will be available at both check points in the Orlando International Airport.
