Doctor Strange Sequel Reportedly Undergoing “Significant” Reshoots
There are apparently developments occurring for the highly anticipated film in the MCU Phase Four Lineup as the Doctor Strange Sequel is reportedly undergoing “significant” reshoots.
First reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness is revealed to be taking additional filming in Los Angeles for what is being described as, “‘additional photography’ and ‘reshoots.'”

What is perhaps more surprising than the reality of reshoots for the film is the specificity of the report, with it indicating that the cast and crew of the highly anticipated sequel will be working at least, “six weeks of shooting, if not more, working six days a week.”
The report maintains that the director of the film, Sam Raimi, is still helming the reshoots; and that the writer of the film, Loki writer Michael Waldron, is also writing new material.

Insiders also note that Doctor Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, is thus far the only confirmed actor on the call sheet.
There is currently uncertainty as to what these reshoots mean for the Doctor Strange sequel, and if they could potentially hinder the film from making its official release date.

With Marvel being forced to delay the release of several films, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility that Doctor Strange could suffer that same fate again.
The report does in fact note that reshoots are simply par for the course when it comes to a Marvel production, with members of the crew operating on a similar schedule for Spider-Man: No Way Home, and the Oscar Isaac starring Disney+ series Moon Knight.

One source within the report noted this fact to The Hollywood Reported stating, “Even while in the middle of production, Marvel is scheduling you for more shooting,” with the publication noting that, “adding that the size and complexity of Marvel movies often necessitate additional photography.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is one of MCU’s most anticipated films, but this development doesn’t seem to be a cause for concern when we stop and observe what is common practice for the studio.
