Did Lucasfilm Drop the Ball on Disney+ Day?
It was one of the most significant news days on the Disney calendar, but was slower for one specific brand under the umbrella; leading us to ask, did Lucasfilm drop the ball on Disney+ Day?
You’ve followed us for the plethora of announcements that came out of Friday’s events; with the new shows, trailers, featurettes, and loads of content that came to subscribers of the Disney+ streaming service.
We got official Disney+ releases of Shang-Chi and other anticipated films, and we had announcements from nearly every Disney related studio about the phenomenal work they’re doing for the upcoming year of Disney+

Although lest robust, Pixar followed closely behind, with a clear image of what’s to come from the studio as far as shorts and series; and a clear commitment to showcasing the progress and planning going into fans 2022, Disney+ experience.
There was, however, one clear omission in terms of who was overtly present during this showcase; a studio that has been barren for content in recent months, and has banked almost entirely on this next year as their opportunity to regain some of what they’ve been missing.

But, did Lucasfilm Drop the ball on Disney+ Day?

Outside of this, and the announcement of Willow’s return, however, not much else happened for the studio.
With no real footage to share from the progress of Obi-Wan Kenobi, fans still felt less satisfied with the announcement, let alone so little surrounding it.

Lucasfilm celebrated Disney+ Day with a Boba Fett-centered documentary debuting on the streaming service; this, however, felt in vain, as the day has come to be known for the footage and announcements that excite fans for the upcoming year.
The lack of announcements shouldn’t serve as an indictment on the content coming via Lucasfilm; with Andor, The Mandolorian Season 3, Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and much more, there was plenty of potential for what could be shown from the Star Wars universe.
It looks wasn't Disney+ day, it was Marvel day on Disney+. Lucasfilm AGAIN dropping the ball and letting fans down!!!!

The reality was that Lucasfilm, simply, had nothing to showcase; with Andor releasing a sizzle reel recently, and Book of Boba Fett delivering its official trailer before Friday; the studio was short of anything new for the event.
Whether their release schedule was an oversight, or they overlooked the value of the news day, it is impossible to ignore the reality; Lucasfilm did drop the ball on Disney+ Day
