The Holiday Season Is Officially Back at Disneyland Resort
It’s the most wonderful time of the year over at Disneyland where the holiday season has made a joyous return. Disneyland Resort will be a winter wonderland through January 9, 2022. Best of all, there’s a whole host of fun season experiences at Disney park, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the Hotels of Disneyland Resort.
Let’s take a look at some of the awesome ways to celebrate the season at Disneyland Resort.
Disneyland Park
New Character Costumes – Previously, we here at MickeyBlog gave you a first look at the new holiday attire for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Now more Disney friends are getting in on the fun in festive styles including Goofy, Chip and Dale, Pluto, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and even Clarabelle Cow. Be on the lookout for them as you wander around Town Square in Disneyland Park.
The Towering Tree is Back! – As you head towards the picturesque and holiday-filled Main Street USA you’ll be in awe of the stunning 60 foot tall Christmas tree. This beauty is adorned with 1,800 ornaments.
Sleeping Beauty Castle Transformation – Be sure to to pop by Sleeping Beauty Castle which is all decked out in lights, icicles, wreaths and other festive décor.
Plaza Point – Head over to this new shop on Main Street USA where it is Christmas all year round.
A Christmas Fantasy Parade – Disneyland will be welcoming back the first parade at the park since it reopened. This merry musical celebration is filled with beloved Disney characters, prancing reindeer, Marching toy soldiers, dancing gingerbread cookies, Anna, Elsa and Olaf from Frozen and even Santa Claus.
Believe…In Holiday Magic – The holiday firework display is back! You’re sure to love this heartwarming show as its the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. It even includes a magical snowfall, colorful projections on Main Street and also along the facade of “it’s a small world.”
Disney California Adventure Park
Disney Festival of the Holidays – Guests at Disney California Adventure can once again discover the sights, sounds and tastes of a diverse season of celebrations. This includes Christmas/Navidad, Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Three Kings Day. You’ll find entertainment, shopping, and special culinary treats whipped up for this seasonal celebration.
Disney ¡Viva Navidad!- Disney characters host a fun street party along with Mexican folklórico dancers and Mariachis, Brazilian samba dancers and percussionists, giant mojiganga puppets and most importantly Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their fiesta best.
Mingle with Mirabel From Encanto- Disney California Adventure unveiled a new character experience that features Mirable from Disney’s upcoming musical comedy Encanto. The film is inspired by the cultures of Colombia. This limited-time character experience brings a new cultural perspective to Disney ¡Viva Navidad!” festivities. Be on the lookout for live entertainment, photo opportunities and more and don’t miss Encanto when it opens in theaters on November 24th.
The Mistletoes – This a cappella ensemble will be celebrating an R&B Christmas and the spirit of Kwanzaa. They’ll take to the stage to perform classic holiday songs at the Pacific Wharf Stage and Palisades Stage.

Mickey’s Happy Holidays – This holiday parade offers a cheerful seasonal celebration with Mickey Mouse and friends. The parade winds its way through the heart of Disney California Adventure. where you’ll see Disney and Pixar characters, dancers, toy drummers and more. The parade is performed twice daily.
Cars Land Is Decked Out For The Holidays. It looks like the residents of Radiator Springs went to a lot of trouble to get things ready for the holidays. Be sure to take time and stroll along Route 66 where you’ll see cleverly themed automotive ornamentation. Two beloved Cars Land attractions have also been given seasonal makeovers – Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree.
Downtown Disney District – We cant think of a better place to do your holiday shopping. You’ll also fine seasonal dining, entertainment and right through until the New Year!
Hotels of Disneyland Resort – The fun doesn’t stop at the theme parks. These stunning properties will be adorned with towering trees, twinkling lights and holiday displays. Also be on the lookout for carolers, seasonal eats and treats and so much more!
