Night of a Million Lights at Give Kids the World Opens Tonight!
Tonight marks the official opening of Give Kids the World’s second Night of a Million Lights! This year’s event re-captures the magical immersion of being surrounded by a world exploding with brilliant light while also introducing new and never-before-experienced offerings!
The Village is wrapped in hundreds of thousands of sparkling lights that come to life under the starry night skies November 12-January 2.
Local businesses meccas donated their time and talents to sponsor the Villas for the event.
SeaWorld, Universal Orlando, Hasbro, Enterprise, WWE, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, and Walt Disney World are just some of the major corporate sponsors who contributed to the magic this year!
While we were touring the lights, we were dazzled by stilt-walkers and very Instagram-worthy photo ops in many of the displays.
Definitely come hungry to this year’s event, because GKTW is serving up everything from full dinner entrees to soft pretzels, churros, dip-n-dots, and even ICEE’s! Don’t worry, it’s always warm enough for an ICEE in Florida!
While GKTW offered a Village-wide event last year, that isn’t possible this year for one big reason: there are families staying at the Village again!
Now that GKTW is re-opened, a fantastically educational tram tour narrated by Jodi Benson (yes, the original voice of Ariel!) takes guests around the Village center and lets them in on facts about the Village and about fantastic work that is done there year-round.
This year, there are brand-new pop-up marketplaces throughout Night of a Million Lights! From t-shits and sweatshirts to light-up accessories and branded plush, shopping for a good cause was never this much fun!
Keep your eyes peeled for decorations created by the Village’s wish kids who are offering up their special talents this year!
Give Kids the World is open 365 days/year to critically ill children and their families whose wish it is to visit the Central Florida theme parks far, far away from hospital stays and doctor appointments.
GKTW provides week-long stays to these families for absolutely NO charge to them, and we are thrilled to that Night of a Million Lights is back for a second year to help raise funds for this incredible organization. Grab your tickets here– you don’t only not want to miss this magical event, but support this fantastic cause this Holiday season!
