Disney World Has Set Up a Virtual Queue for Santa Meet and Greet at Disney Springs
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog, you’ll know that Santa will be making socially distanced appearances at several Walt Disney World locations for 2021. Earlier this week we caught Santa at his new meet and greet area in Liberty Square during Very Merriest After Hours.
Another spot where we’ll find Santa is Disney Springs. This has often been a popular location to meet the man in red as most guests combine it with Christmas shopping at Disney World’s downtown district.
It looks like Disney is expecting the Disney Springs location to be mightg popular as they have already set up a virtual queue that can be used at the meet and greet area to avoid the long lines.
Guests now visiting the My Disney Experience app will see that under Virtual Queue, there is a tab for Disney Springs.
Underneath the tab the only option available for sign-up is meeting Santa at Once Upon a Toy. Again, the official Disney Springs meet and greet kicks off tomorrow (November 12th) and will run until December 24 at which point Santa needs to take off an tend to a very important sleigh ride!
From the My Disney Experience app it looks like there are two specific times that guests can join the virtual queue. Bookings need to be done on the day at either 9:00 am OR 4:00pm.
Here’s some additional information on the experience.
Dates & Times

- November 12 to December 14, 2021 –10:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- December 15 to December 24, 2021 –10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
Know Before You Go
- Physical distancing is in place at this photo opportunity.
- Because this is an indoor experience, masks are required.
- A virtual queue will be available.
- Disney PhotoPass photographers will be on hand to capture digital portraits, available for purchase.
As you can see from the image above of MickeyBlogger Elyssa meeting Santa at Magic Kingdom this week, guests still get some private time to interact with Santa but from a socially distanced location. He really took his time when we went though to chat and pose for selfies. It was still a magical experience.
