NEW Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Virtual Reality Experience Coming to Disneyland Resort
We’ve got some exciting news! If you think back to life at Disney pre-COVID you may remember that both Downtown Disney at DIsneyland Resort and Disney Springs at Walt Disney World had Star Wars-themed virtual reality experiences. We’ll it looks like they make be coming back (at least at Disneyland Resort) from November 21, 2021 – January 5, 2022.
The experience will be a preview version of ILMxLAB’s virtual reality experience that expands into the world of Batuu in a way you’ve never experienced before. Once you’ve put on your Quest 2 headset, you’ll be immersed within sweeping 360 views of the Star Wars galaxy.
The adventure will take place just outside of Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. This is the same area depicted in Star Wars:Galaxy’s Edge the immersive land that guests have fallen in love with at Disneyland theme parks.

During the storyline you’ll encounter both new and iconic characters from the Star Wars galaxy. Best of all, Gameplay was meticulously designed for a wide array of players from VR experts to Star Wars fans and everything in between!
In Part 1 of this action-adventure experience, players will take on the role of a droid repair technician who is operating near the Outer Rim. A group of pirates attack you and as a result you crash on Batuu where you soon discover that anyone in the galaxy can become a hero.
You can even continue your journey with Star Wars: Tales from Galaxy’s Edge where you’ll have the opportunity to expand your Virtual Reality adventures on the Outer Rim and span different eras in the Star Wars timeline.
Best of all, for a limited time, this experience will be complimentary and offered daily from noon – 8pm. It will be offered adjacent to Star Wars Trading Post in the Downtown Disney District.. Reservations may be available. Just as a Meta Quest staff member to assist you with reserving a time to return in order to participate. Stand-by lines may be available but are based on availability.
