Opening Date and Shop Hours Announced For Grand Floridian Gingerbread House!
Another day, another Gingerbread House update! MickeyBlog is back at the Grand Floridian where we are tracking the progress of the assembly of the stunning Victorian gingerbread house.
This is hands down one of Walt Disney Worlds most magnificent holiday decorations.
So much progress has been made overnight. Most of the gingerbread has been laid. Exquisite greenery is also in place and the gingerbread chimneys are in place!
New signage has also been put up showing us what delicious treats will be available for purchase at the retail location located inside this gingerbread creations. This year’s menu is as follows:
- Marshmallow lollipop- $3.00
- Snowman Donut- $4.00
- Gingerbread Man Lollipop $5.50
- Thin Mint Cookie (2 pack) – $5.50
- Gingersnap Cookie – $5.50
- Gingerbread Cookie Man – $6.25

We’ve also got some fun facts about this year’s gingerbread creation. Look at all of the incredible ingredients that went into making this loveliness:

- 700 lbs. of Chocolate
- 800 lbs. of flour
- 33 lbs. of spices
- Tons of Creativity
- Disney Magic and Pixie Dust.
The decorations are simply stunning this year and we like the rich jewel tones of the flowers.
It adds such a beautiful pop of color to the monochrome house!
Statues of nutcrackers, Santa and wooden soldiers adorn the porches of the Victorian Mansion!
How many Christmas trees can you count!?
Lighting has been added to the windows and candy canes now adorn the walls.
Gold ribbons also wind their way up the chimney.
You can see the team hard at work this morning.
We fully expect the gingerbread house to be completed by next week.
And we can’t wait for the shop to open so that we can try out some of the goodies on offe.r
There’s a television monitor on one of the mansion walls that shows guests how this masterpiece was created!
The house looks right at home amidst the elegance of the Grand Floridian lobby.
It looks like there’s only little touches that need to be made.
We spoke to Cast Members on the scene this morning and they informed us that the shop will officially open on 11/10.
Unfortunately there will be no grand opening ceremony as they’ve done in years past!
However, the won’t stop us from being their on opening day to pick up our gingerbread shingles!
As you can see from the signage below there’s a little guide for resort guests in terms of what the crew members are working on.
It also announces that the shop hours will be between 9:30 am – 9:00 pm.
