The Gingerbread House at Grand Floridian Continues to Take Shape
There is no item of Walt Disney World holiday decor that makes me happier than the gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa! Each year I excitedly watch this awe-inspiring structure be built and every year it is as magical as I remembered!
Our MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa popped by the lobby at the Grand Floridian this evening to track the progress.
You can definitely see the stunning Victorian-style mansion start to take shape!
It is such a grand process that most of the lobby is blocked off during the construction.
All of the dark portions of the structure are where the gingerbread has already been laid.
Where always in awe of those intricately placed shingles.
There are still portions of the structure that need to be sided.
Then Disney will add lots of fantastic details to really make the whole thing come to life!
For those unfamiliar, each year the Grand Floridian opens up a shop at the gingerbread house where they will sell some holiday goodies.
Our favorite treat is stopping by to purchase a couple of the gingerbread shingles as a special treat.
During our visit, parts of the structure will still being moved into the lobby. d
Scaffolding was also up so that gingerbread could be placed on some of the higher levels of the house.
We’ll be tracking the progress of this impressive and delicious architectural feat.
