‘Eternals’ Tracking to be Rotten Tomatoes Lowest Rated Marvel Movie Yet
Just a few days away, the MCU’s newest adventure is just on the horizon; with many of the early reactions immensely positive, it has been surprising to learn that Eternals is tracking to be Rotten Tomatoes lowest-rated Marvel movie yet.
With reviews released earlier last week, many fans have been curious as to what they can expect from Marvel’s newest story; with many reviews praising the visual style of the film while critiquing the formulaic nature of the film.

Currently, the film has a 60% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, which would make it Marvel’s lowest film in the entirety of the MCU.
Before Eternals has seemingly taken up the mantle, Marvel’s previous lowest-rated film on Rotten Tomatoes was Thor: The Dark World.

The Marvel sequel was a muddled and poorly paced film that was formulated in a time before Thor had found his MCU sense of humor that has come to so define the character.
Early Eternals reviews seem to parallel the divisive reactions the film has noted overall; with many of the reviews giving the film as low as two stars out of five.

Although Chloe Zhao is widely beloved for her visual style, and ability to bring a narrative to life through her imagery, the film received a fair bit of critique because of the fatigue that has seemingly set in from the decade of MCU development.
The premise of the film- with ten immortal superheroes that have drifted apart over the centuries of their existence- and the mature themes of mortality and humanity bringing the film to life unlike many Marvel films, it struggled with the overall conflict and resolution of the film.

Many have spoken of the film’s “race against time” dilemma that forces the team to reunite for the sake of protecting humanity.
Overall, it seems as though all of the unique aspects of the film didn’t matter much to reviewers when it was weight down by the underlying Marvel formula that has so defined the film.

Rotten Tomatoes, although a good tool for fans to utilize in terms of what film they think they would enjoy, is by no means the final judge on whether a film is good or not; it simply has collected all of the recorded reviews of the film.
Eternals is tracking to be Rotten Tomatoes’ lowest-rated Marvel Movie, and will easily be the MCU’s most divisive film yet.
