Pete’s Surprise Soft Opening Full of Unique Character Encounters
This morning, Mickey Mouse and the princess of Fairytale Hall returned to socially distanced meet and greets, known now as encounters, at the Magic Kingdom. Knowing Pete’s Silly Sideshow is also slated for a return to magical character moments, MickeyBloggers headed to the Big Top space early this afternoon and discovered quite a delightful surprise.
Though the sign on the door stated that Pete’s Silly Sideshow remained closed, persistence certainly paid off.
After a walk through Big Top Souvenirs, cast members guided our MickeyBloggers into a secret soft opening inside of the sideshow tent. Inside debuted one of the most unique character-filled meet-and-greets that we have encountered during normal park hours.
As guests traveled throughout the experience, Mickey’s pals Chip and Dale greeted guests in a celebration of faithful Disney sidekicks.
Pluto also offered a playful greeting to passerbys. A member of the Sensational Six, Pluto can also be found throughout the day during Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade as well as playing with his bone throughout the day at Hollywood Studios.
Pete’s Celebrates Other Trusty Friends
Taking a trip to Pooh Corner, Eeyore also shared his sentiments on this rainy day in Orlando. He too could be found previously during the day throughout the Magic Kingdom either riding on the trolley car down Main Street U.S.A. or greeting friends at the Walt Disney World Railroad Station.
Often hard-to-find characters like “The Lion King” sage guide Rafiki and the fire-searching King Louie of “The Jungle Book” shared their more excited side with guests passing through the walking path.
King Louie even busted out some of his best dance moves. Now, all he needs is his signature tune, “I Wanna Be Like You,” which happens to feature in the new nighttime show “Harmonious” at EPCOT.
For those looking for a pirate’s life, even Captain Hook’s reliable partner in crime Mr. Smee made an appearance today during the event.
Though the doors to the soft opening quite truly closed right behind our bloggers today, we cannot wait to see more of what this exciting new encounter has to offer guests in the very near future.
Stay tuned to MickeyBlog for more information on a possible grand opening at Pete’s Silly Sideshow as well as other character encounters debuting next month at the Walt Disney World Resort.
