Kevin Smith Confirms the Existence of Marvels Secret Police
One of the biggest studios the film industry has ever seen, with some of the most prominent and successful franchises to ever hit the market, there is no shortage of secrets to protect; Kevin Smith confirms the existence of Marvel’s Secret Police to protect those exact secrets.
No, really. I’m serious; Marvel has their own police force dedicated to protecting its many secrets.
It has become something of a running joke, for actors involved in various Marvel projects to speak on the vitality of their protection of any MCU plot points that could be revealed before the studio is ready for them too.
Julia Louis Dreyfus recently gave fans an inside look at the giant hooded cloak used to sneak her on and offset, simply to deter those from uncovering her involvement with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series.
The protection of secrets at Marvel is of top priority. With so many moving parts and so many projects being developed tone time, it is only natural that the different secrets staying secret is of the utmost importance to the continued success of such an already successful franchise.
Reported first by Comicbook.com, when speaking on a FatMan Beyond LIVE, Kevin Smith confirms the existence of Marvel’s Secret Police.
Smith stated, “I don’t think this threatens anything they do or whatnot, but I thought it was an interesting factoid, coming from inside the world through many sources i can’t even tell you but pretty legit,”
“So when leaks happen, not only do the Marvel Secret Police sweat down the departments to find where the leaks sprang from, they also deal in subterfuge,” The director continued, “We know this in as much as you’ll go to auditions and read lines that have nothing to do with what you’re auditioning for.”
Giving an example of something the Secret Police would do, Smith states, “So they leave leftover call sheets where they draw allusions to characters that are well known that doesn’t exist. So they lay little traps in the call sheets to see if it gets passed on and they try and find the leaks thusly.”
The existence of the Secret Police may sound more like an organization from a Sci-fi novel, yet, their presence isn’t entirely unnecessary.
As Kevin Smith confirms the existence of the Marvel’s Secret Police, we also know that the leaked video of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man is completely legitimate; which means that this team is not only responsible for hiding secrets, it’s responsible for controlling leaks.
Marvel has been know to use leaks as a sort of promotion campaign, keying the public in on what they can expect in the upcoming films, by showing them something they hadn’t seen and didn’t expect.
The Marvel Secret Police, to this point, has done a pretty outstanding job, and we can only guess what massive secrets they’re currently hiding for this upcoming MCU phase.
