Imagineer Brings Soarin’ to Las Vegas
Soarin’ Over Las Vegas? Sign me up! A former Disney Imagineer has opened a new flight simulator on the famed Vegas Strip called FlyOver Las Vegas, reminiscent of the popular attraction, Soarin’.
Soarin’ In Disney Parks
As many Disney-goers will know, Soarin’ Over California and Soarin’ Around the World are two of Disney’s most beloved attractions. The hang-gliding simulator ride gives guests the sensation of flying over some of the world’s most iconic locations. You can find it in Epcot at Walt Disney World and Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim.
FlyOver Las Vegas
Vegas’ newest entertainment option was the brainchild of former Disney Imagineer and creative director of Soarin’ Over California, Rick Rothschild. Since leaving Disney over 10 years ago, Rothschild has helped develop several FlyOver experiences in locations such as Minnesota, Canada, Iceland, and most recently, Las Vegas.

The ride opened in September next to the Hard Rock Café and to the tune of $40 million. Riders will be treated to a Wild West, multisensory, immersive experience, much like its Disney counterparts. FlyOver Las Vegas features brand new technology that allows for more diverse movements and higher definition video. Oh, and there’s a Wild West-themed bar where you can saddle up and grab a pre-ride drink. Because why not!?

The ride itself features scenes from 22 locations in 10 Western US states. Some locations you will visit include Yellowstone National Park, the Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon, Lake Tahoe, Northern California, and obviously, the Vegas Strip.

The 30 minute experience costs $34 for adults and $24 for kids. Tickets are available online HERE.
