Photos Show Demolition of Primeval Whirl
Our MickeyBloggers were on the scene at Disney’s Animal Kingdom yesterday where we noticed where we popped over to Dinoland USA. As we previously shared here at MickeyBlog, Primeval Whirl is no longer.
Disney announced earlier this Fall that the classic midway-style attraction, which hasn’t been open since the theme parks reopened last Summer, will be removed from the theme park.
Over the past few weeks, we have started to see evidence of the Whirl going bye-bye.
Twitter users like @bioreconstruct have shared images of was is now and active demolition site including some awesome aerial photos.
Though high construction walls surround the attraction, you can see in these images taken yesterday that parts of the attraction have been reduced to rubble.
As of going to print, Disney has yet to announce plans for this area of Animal Kingdom theme park.
This is a story that we will continue to follow closely and we will let you know as soon as we’ve heard world of a possible replacement.
The site does cut an odd scene at Animal Kingdom as picnic tables have still be set up in the area which is also being used as a makeshift stroller park. It’s weird to see visitors taking a rest in front of the rubble.
This is just one of many projects Disney World is working on including new coasters at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT and a new Star Wars hotel experience coming to the Hollywood Studios area of the parks.
Though we’ll be sad to see Primeval Whirl go, it is a ride that has long divided visitors. We can’t wait to hear more about a potential replacement
