VIDEO: New Announcement Greets Magic Kingdom Guests
Guests lined up well before 6 a.m. this morning to be among the first to celebrate the Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary this morning. After parading down Main Street U.S.A., lined with cast members cheering their arrival, many fans headed straight to Cinderella Castle in anticipation of this morning’s possible return of “Let the Magic Begin.” At 7 a.m., an new announcement suprised those waiting.
The recording invites guests to enjoy the shops of Main Street U.S.A. as they await the official opening of the Magic Kingdom at 8 a.m. It also reminds guests that photo locations throughout the hub open prior to that time as well as dining opportunities.
The delightful announcer also encourages guests to enjoy the Fab 50 Character Collection, prominently displayed throughout the Castle Gardens. The group of golden statues debuted over the last few weeks throughout all four theme parks at the resort in honor of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.”
“We wish you a magical day here at the Magic Kingom as we celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary,” concludes the narrator. With so much excitement amongst the crowd this morning, of course, the sentiment received loud cheers.

A Week of Anniversary Celebrations
Last night, MickeyBlog joined an invitation-only, star-studded crowd for the resort’s rededication led by Walt Disney Company Bob Chapek and Walt Disney Company Executive Chairman Bob Iger. Pop superstar Christina Aguilera wowed the crowd with performances of two of her hit songs from “Mulan.”
Also, “Good Morning America” meteorologist Ginger Zee hosted a livestream of the premiere of “Disney Enchantment.” The new fireworks spectacular celebrated an abundance of Disney films, music, and a new song, “You Are the Magic.”
The night prior, EPCOT hosted a soft opening of its new fireworks display, “Harmonious,” as well as the premiere of its “Beacons of Magic” lightshow on Spaceship Earth.
