Unprecedented Crowds Are Already Claiming Their Spots for Disney Enchantment Tonight
In all of my blogging years, I’ve never really seen anything quite like this! Your MickeyBloggers are at the Magic Kingdom for the first showing of Disney Enchantment
With evening approaching, we expected to see guests staking out their fireworks viewing spots relatively early.
However, we didn’t expect anything quite like this!
These images were taken at 6:45 pm as guests wait in anticipation for the new Disney Enchantment fireworks.
Crowds are already lining the sidewalks up and down Main Street U.S.A.
There is also a massive amount of congestion as crowds are literally lining the entire street in Main Street between Casey’s Corner and Plaza Ice Cream Parlor!
We suspect that this will be the case in the weeks ahead due to the fact that one of the new innovations of this fireworks show is that the projections continue down Main Street U.S.A.
This is the current view looking towards the Castle. As you can see, the HUB is already filled with guests.
Here’s another shot looking down the street toward Main Street Station.
If you were following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know that we came to you last night with a LIVE stream of an Enchantment performance. However, at that time Greg was stationed right up near the castle.
Tonight he was hoping to stream the view from Main Street but we’ll have to wait and see how he fairs with the crowds!
As you know, parade and fireworks viewers at Disney can be very territorial on the best of days. With the huge crowds, I can’t imagine.
In the photos above we are standing right at the top of Main Street which is to our left and Casey’s Corner directly ahead. You can see guests lining up right across Main Street along the yellow line and all the way over to Crystal Palace.
This is the view looking Down Main Street with Cinderella Castle to our backs. Can you believe it!?
Earlier, there were reports that the park was closed to those that were planning on park hopping and that the Magic Kingdom had reached capacity.
Seeing the crowds here just now we definitely believe it!
There are even guests and photographers lined up at Town Square.
This has traditionally been a nice spot to go if you’re trying to find a viewing spot last minute…but not anymore.
With Main Street U.S.A filling up minute by minute, we fully expect the entire street to lined with people all the way back to the train station by the time Enchanted starts!
The fireworks don’t start tonight until 9:00 pm so we still have two hours to go.
We’ll continue to try our LIVE stream at the Magic Kingdom for the first official running of Disney Enchantment fireworks on the day of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
Greg wandered through the Main Street and HUB area looking for spots that weren’t saturated but the truth is all the areas are pretty much wall-to-wall at this point.
We want to give a huge round of applause to the cast members who are tasked with managing these large crowds! And if you’re lucky enough to be there this evening, be nice to the cast members and the people around you. Let’s keep things magical on this special day!
Even the side walkways like this one from Crystal Palace are brimming with guests!
Here’s another view as we inch our way toward the Tomorrowland side of the plaza.
Those hoping to get a spot in front of the castle this evening will be sadly disappointed as this is the view as of 7:30pm this evening.
Those looking to live broadcast from the HUB will definitely find the connection challenging with all these people connected at the same time!
It will be interesting to see whether we will see similar crowds throughout the weekend or if the majority of visitors are intent on seeing the fireworks this evening.
We’ll be at the theme parks throughout the weekend so watch this space!
Here’s a view of the crowds looking toward Tomorrowland. It is an absolute sea of people.
There’s two distinct areas for fireworks viewing, the area directly in front of the castle for those only interested in being close for the projections. Then there’s the Main Street crowds who want the added effect of the new street projections.
At this point, each of the areas are equally packed!
Most of the areas roped off for fireworks viewing are already full.
As the sun sets we are debating as to whether we want to brave the crowds or simply be in awe of them but call it a night!
One thing is for sure, Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration at the Magic Kingdom today was/is a resounding success.
Could luck to all of those braving the crowds!
We did a quick walk through the crowds which we’ll share with you above! It was at this point that we decided we’d be better off bringing you this story and bidding adieu to Magic Kingdom.
On the way out, at 7:45 this evening, we took this shot of Main Street from the Plaza in Town Square and I can honestly say…we have no regrets about calling it a night.
We are still bound and determined to live stream Disney Enchanted with Main Street views. We’ll keep you posted as to when we’ll make this happy!
