Magic Kingdom Debuts New Attraction Posters
Happy 50th Anniversary Walt Disney World! What an amazing day to visit the parks. Many new magical touches have been added to celebrate and we came across a fun one this morning. As you enter Magic Kingdom and walk under the Main Street, U.S.A. railroad station you’ll notice that there are brand new attraction posters lining the walls.
Disney set up both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland with a theater in mind. The Ticket area and Turnstiles are considered the movie theater’s lobby with the the train station representing the curtain to the magical show. But just like any movie theater you’ll find Coming Attraction posters lining the walls before entering.
First up we have a poster for Crystal Palace. This is where you can “Dine in Grand Victorian Elegance”. This is an opening day dining location. Fun fact! When it originally opened it was a cafeteria-style experience but changed over to a buffet format in 1996.
Next up is a poster for Casey’s Corner Restaurant which serves up “World Famous Hot Dogs”. Although this dining location is cornerstone of the Magic Kingdom it in fact did not open with the park. We began our obsession with Casey’s in 1995!
Peter Pan’s Flight is a fan favorite (as proven by the normally long line to experience it). It in fact was an opening day attraction for Magic Kingdom.
Next we become a part of Ariel’s world with the Under The Sea Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction poster. This beloved ride came to Magic Kingdom with the huge expansion of Fantasyland that was completed in 2012.
I’ve been “dying” to show you this next attraction poster for the Haunted Mansion. This is another opening day attraction that has lasted through the ages. Although the Haunted Mansion was inspired by it’s Disneyland counterpart they differ in both their exteriors and locations inside their respective parks.
Did you get a chance to catch the first showing of Enchantment that was live streamed last night? If not you can catch it on our Facebook page by clicking here. This is the Magic Kingdom’s newest nighttime spectacular that features music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.
Last but certainly not least is the beautiful new 50th Anniversary poster featuring the iconic Cinderella Castle. I love the imagery of Cinderella’s carriage racing up the path to get her to the ball and meet her prince.
