Casey’s Corner Original Pianist Randy Morris Returns for 50th Anniversary Set
There are so many special activities and experiences taking place at Magic Kingdom for the start of the 50th Anniversary today!
One of the most special events, however, is the return of the pianist performer to Casey’s Corner, right on the corner of Main Street, U.S.A.
Taking the first set for these hugely popular ragtime music shows, however, is a very special guest indeed. The original pianist who tickled the ivories in this exact location on October 1st, 1971, is making his grand return, fifty years later!
The brilliant Randy Morris took to Instagram earlier this week to announce he was making a grand return to the most famous hot dog spot in Magic Kingdom.
Today, Randy took the very first set back at the piano, and MickeyBloggers just had to go and celebrate with him!
Wearing a dapper red and white striped waistcoat, Randy greeted the cheering crowds warmly before taking his seat at the gleaming piano.
Crowds had already gathered to watch the ragtime performer do what he does best, and everyone was ready to celebrate the pianist’s return!
The first set took place at 11.10 this morning, with six other sets scheduled throughout the day. It’s wonderful to have this uplifting addition back on the Magic Kingdom entertainment schedule, after missing the music for so long.
The Walt Disney World website describes the Casey’s Corner piano music as “swell ragtime tunes from a bygone era”. Crowds are certain to gather and dance along!
What better way to enjoy a hot dog, fries and some corn dog nuggets?
Legendary piano player extraordinaire Randy looked like he was having a great time, cracking jokes and interacting with his enthusiastic audience.
Each set lasts for twenty minutes, but with a hot dog in hand we’d happily stay and enjoy the performance all day!
As you can see from the photos, it wasn’t just the crowds Randy was performing for! Also by his side was a Cast Member camera crew, on hand to record this momentous musical occasion.
The large audience didn’t faze Randy of course. He performed spectacularly, playing incredibly intricate and bouncy ditties that no doubt raised the spirits of everyone on Main Street, U.S.A.
We’re delighted to see the Casey’s Corner Pianist performances back at Walt Disney World! When you’re next passing Casey’s, make sure you go and check him out!
