Contemporary Club Level Lounge Reopens
After undergoing an enormous refurbishment, Disney’s Contemporary Resort revealed its exquisite new mid-century modern look today. For some lucky guests, the Club Level Lounge at the iconic resort also reopened for the first time since March 2020 as well.
Cast members greeted Club Level guests at elevators that led them to the Club Level Lounge, which is still covered by scrim due to ongoing renovations at the resort.
The Club Level Lounge at Disney’s Contemporary features a wealth of both helpful cast members as well as delicious bites, as one expects from the experience.
Previously, the lounge did not include views of the dramatic lobby of the A-frame, classic Disney resort. It will be interesting to see what the remodeled floor features.
Instead, the Contemporary’s Club Level Lounge features an unmatched view of the Seven Seas Lagoon and, of course, the Magic Kingdom. With its incredibly convenient location, the Contemporary’s club level accommodations continue to be incredibly popular.
Contemporary Receives Retro Update
Though the club levels remain covered by scrim, a limited number of refurbished rooms did open to guests today at the iconic resort, which also celebrates its 50th anniversary this Friday.
To celebrate the resort’s incredible milestone, the entire lobby area also received a colorful and sleek new look, largely inspired by the work of Mary Blair. An incredible animator, Blair played a prominent role at the Walt Disney Company for decades. She personally drew art for many Disney classics, including “Peter Pan,” “Cinderella,” and “Alice in Wonderland.”
As one can tell based on the range of incredible colors used in the Contemporary redesign, Blair also created the color pallete for “it’s a small world,” the iconic Disney attraction.
We cannot wait to see more of the Contemporary’s new look, especially those guest rooms that will transport visitors into the world of the Pixar superheroes, “The Incredibles.”
