Rise of the Resistance Attraction Starts the First Day of Traditional Standby Line
Today was the first day that Rise of the Resistance attraction at Hollywood Studios opened without a virtual queue system in place. Guests had to use the traditional stand by line in order to ride. Disney is pausing the virtual queue system for now. Guests were greeted with long lines and high wait times.
At 9:30am this morning. The wait time was at 220 minutes.
Hollywood Studios started letting guests into the park as early as 8:20am. From first-hand accounts, it took about 15 minutes to get parked, through security and MagicBand scanning, and onto the massive crowd that gathered for the line to start moving for Rise of the Resistance. At that time, the line seemed to stop at the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. From there, once 9:00am hit, the crowd slowly started to inch towards Galaxy’s Edge.
Once you arrive at the tunnel leading into Galaxy’s Edge, Cast Members made everyone form lines of 2 by 2. once you get near the entrance of the ride, it’s about a 90 minute wait time.
Considering today was the first day without a virtual queue, I think the lines were decent. The lines were very organized from a certain point and moved much faster than I thought they would.
As of about an hour ago, the lines were back down to a 90-minute wait.
The use of the virtual queue is currently paused at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Guests may experience the attraction using a traditional standby queue. Availability of a standby queue may be limited and is subject to change at any time without notice. Virtual queue may be used again at a later date or from time to time. Experiencing the attraction is not guaranteed.
