Ariel’s Grotto Sign Back Up in New Fantasyland
Could character meet and greets be coming back!? During our visit to Magic Kingdom this afternoon, we noticed that the sign for Ariel’s Grotto is once again in place above her previous meet and greet location.
This area as you may remember is located in the same location as Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid.
If you’ve been following along with the HUGE changes at the theme parks over the last year, you’ll know that character meet and greets have been suspended so that Disney characters can maintain a safe social distance from guests.
Disney has replaced them with character cavalcades that happen at the parks at various times each day.
In addition, as you visit Walt Disney World Resort for it’s 50th Anniversary, you might notice spontaneous character interactions happening around you in the various parks and even some of the resorts.
With COVID-19 cases still spreading due to the Delta Variant its unlikely that we’ll see Ariel flip her fins here anytime soon.
However the signs going up does bode well for the future.
This is a story that we will continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog.
It may just be that Disney World wants everything polished and in place for the 50th Anniversary which kicks of on October 1.
The Little Mermaid attraction next door is currently running and is a fun must-do for Disney fans of all ages!
It is the only Disney-themed attraction at Walt Disney World resort now that the Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show has closed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further Walt Disney World news and updates.
