US to Ease Travel Restrictions For UK & EU Passengers – and Mickey Mouse Is Celebrating!
We have lived through over a year of turmoil, with tough travel restrictions in place across the globe.
Now, the US has announced that their restrictions will be eased, and it’s brilliant news for passengers!
From November, fully-vaccinated passengers from the UK, EU and other nations will be permitted to travel into the United States, providing they are willing to undergo relevant test and trace procedures.
Jeff Zients, the COVID-19 coordinator for the White House, announced the news on Monday. He stated that this system, in particular, will be stronger and safer, since it “is based on individuals rather than a country-based approach” (via BBC).
This means that families will finally be able to reunite in time for Thanksgiving, and people can plan get-togethers with friends over the holidays.
It’s the magical news we have all been waiting for, and Mickey Mouse is apparently celebrating too!
In an adorable Facebook post, Walt Disney World said “To all our UK guests, the magic is waiting…”.
Of course, the ease in restrictions will mean that overseas vacations to the US can take place once again. That means all those postponed bookings can finally go ahead and, with all the offers Disney have been promoting to UK-based guests in particular, we imagine many people will be headed straight to Walt Disney World!
Speaking as a UK citizen myself, I cannot wait to get back to the Magic Kingdom to experience the 50th Anniversary! Like Mickey says, “See Ya Real Soon!”
This news comes after months of conversations between government officials and representatives from the travel and tourism industries, who have made strong arguments outlining the extreme hit the sectors have taken due to the pandemic.
We hope this update comes as brilliant news for you and your loved ones, and can’t wait to see guests from all over the globe return to the parks once more.
