Photo-Worthy, Throwback Shopping Experiences with Vintage Props Coming to Walt Disney World
I don’t know what I love more: Disney or shopping! And, that’s what I am excited to announce these new photo-worthy, throwback shopping experiences coming to Walt Disney World for the 50th Anniversary celebrations that kick off in just over one week!
One of the several merchandise collections designed just for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations is called the Vault Collection. This collection is inspired by the initial years of the Walt Disney World Resort – the 1970’s – and features items that one would find in the The Walt Disney Archives.

To go with this collection, two unique shopping experiences will soon open at the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs and the Main Street Cinema in the Magic Kingdom. These experiences will take Guests back to the beginning of the magic with vintage props, displays, and much more. Talk about the ultimate Instagram photo shoot location!
When you first step in the throwback shopping experience at the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs to buy all of the Vault Collection, you will think you walked straight into 1971! Imagine vintage pieces including carousel horses from Prince Charming Regal Carrousell replicas of my personal favorite, Orange Bird and the Tiki sculptures, and other props and displays that will take you “all the way back!

In addition to a shopping location and photo ops, the Marketplace Co-Op shopping experience serves as a museum featuring the history of Walt Disney World. The space includes opportunities to learn more about the history of the Resort including original attractions at the Parks, The Preview Center, and the first resort to open – Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Many shops and attractions at the Magic Kingdom are receiving an EARidescent makeover for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. The Main Street Cinema is getting ready to get a new look. Or, should I say an old look?!

The Main Street Cinema in the Magic Kingdom will soon debut a retro-inspired look “filled with vintage photos, colors, and details including photo-worthy backdrops and props inspired by beloved attractions from Walt Disney World Resort history.”
Both of these retro shopping experiences will be available for Guests to enjoy through the 18-month-long “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” at Walt Disney World.
