Magic Kingdom Flags Flown at Half Mast for 9/11
We’re spending the morning at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
To commemorate those that lost their lives during the attack on the World Trade Center 20 years ago, Disney World is flying their flags at half mast.
Here you can see images of the main flag located in Town Square as you arrive into the park.
It is very moving that despite the Disney magic all around us, the parks are still remembering this very somber day in American history.
The flag in Town Square is the same flag used for Disney’s daily Flag Retreat ceremony which honors our men and women in the armed services.
Disney often flies flags in accordance with the US government.
We recently saw the flags at half mask after 13 members lost their lives in Afghanistan.
We’ve always thought that the flag with Main Street and Cinderella Castle in the back paints a moving picture.
We’ll leave you with a few more images in tribute.
For those interested in catching one of the Flag Retreat Ceremonies at Magic Kingdom, they happen daily at 5pm.
You can find out more information about the Flag Retreat ceremonies here.
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further Walt Disney World news and updates.
We’ll be coming to you live from the theme parks each and every week.
