Magic Key Terrace Cocktail Named After Local Feral Cat
The exclusive AP lounge over called The Magic Key Terrace in Disney California Adventure opened on August 25th. It is a revamped cocktail bar that is sure to be the exclusive hangout for Magic Key Annual Passholders.

The menu is full of signature cocktails and colorful snacks. One of those drinks is on a secret drink menu is actually named after a feral cat that frequents the passholders patio lounge. His name is Nutmeg. He is super friendly and likes to mingle with the guests.

The Nutmeg cocktail is made with Myers dark rum, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Frangelico hazelnut liqueur and apricot liqueur. “This is definitely a dessert drink,” according to the Disney Food Blog. “If you’re a rum fan, a sucker for dessert cocktails or a secret menu hunter, it may be worth a try. Especially if you love Disneyland cats.”

“We have lots of friends that like to visit us and some of them are four-legged friends,” Disney California Adventure Culinary Director Jeremiah Balogh said during a Magic Key Terrace media preview. “We have a resident cat that will come and visit guests and cast members whenever he or she feels lonely.”

The feral cat colony is widely known at Disneyland. Cast Members allow them to hang around as long as they keep the rats, not Mickey Mouse of course, out of the parks. There is actually a large following for the Cats of Disneyland over on Instagram. Disney gives routine health checks, neutering, and feeding/drinking stations for the feline friends.

Magic Key Terrace is only available to Magic Key holders and their Guests (for a total of 6 Guests per party). Upon arrival at Magic Key terrace, at least one Magic Key holder must show their Magic Key pass in the Disneyland app. At least one Magic Key holder must also remain present for the entire experience. Guests can make advance dining reservations online or via the Disneyland app. Same-day reservations can be made on a limited basis and are subject to availability.
