New “Princess Healthy Treats” Cookbook Hits Shelves
Nori, black sesame, and chamomile are just some of the intriguing flavors featured in the lateast Disney cookbook from Insight Editions. “Disney Princess Healthy Treats” officially released yesterday, and we can’t wait to try some of these exciting recipes.
With an emphasis on not only healthy but also modifiable ideas, this new work by Ariane Resnick certainly introduces palettes to an incredible variety of flavors and cuisines.
Sweets to Delight Any Prince or Princess
Of course, any Disney cookbook would not be complete without a plethora of sweet delights, and this edition does not disappoint.
With irrestible options like Pumpkin Coach Cinammon Rolls and Moana’s Fruit Pudding, the recipes take unique spins on some familiar baked goods, desserts and breakfast foods. Merida Cranachan even takes little chefs to the Scottish isles to create this traditional dessert. Typically made of whipped cream, oatmeal, honey and raspberry (and whiskey), this version substitutes with Greek yogurt for a more nutritious take. Sans the yogurt, the treat checks off a wealth of dietary needs, including being gluten free, vegan, low fat, and whole grain.
Savory Sensations Fit for Royals
It’s in the savory where this collection really shines! Chapters Three and Four are dedicated to appetizers and an enormous variety of small, shareable plates. Chapter Two even presents a range of breads to try out at home. It’s hard to decide where to start: Sebastian’s foccacia, a Rapunzel-themed braided challah, or Jasmine’s Magic Carpet Flatbreads.
