Recap of Cast Members Celebrating Princess Week!
As Princess Week winds down, we thought we’d share with you some of the awesome ways that cast members played this week. Let’s take a look at noteworthy Cast Member contributions at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Kelly @ Mint Julep Bar – Emily at Mint Julep had the job of sprinkling powdered sugar on beignets before serving them up to guests this week. Her role is connected to our Disney Princess/Incredible Chef Tiana and hers what she had to say about the connection: “It’s really exciting. Beignets are so important to her, and it’s nice to have that connection with her and with ‘The Princess and the Frog’. It’s fun when guests make that connection too and they’re really excited about it.”
Manny at French Market Restaurant – From Mint Julep, we don’t have to go far to find Manny who is a cook at French Market. He actually makes the beignets that Kelly Sprinkles. He has fond memories of first trying beignets as a kids remembering, “I came into the Park one time with some friends, and the best part of the meal at Café Orleans was the beignets for dessert. It just hits the spot.”
Re-imagined Splash Mountain – If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog then you’ll know that Splash Mountain will be getting a Princess and the Frog makeover over the next few years. Here’s what Emily had to saw about this ride-to-come, “What excites me the most about the transformation is the music.
Manny said, “It’s really nice that Princess Tiana is getting her own attraction, finally!”
Stephanie a cast member from Louisiana, who works at Walt Disney World Resort said “I’m ready for all the adventures Tiana is going to bring for us.”

Keeping things ‘Shiny’ with Housekeeping cast at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – Disney likens the role of Disney World’s incredible housekeeping team to the voyage of Moana. Three cast members Josette, Nashima and Rosalie discussed the passion, attention to detail and teamwork that takes to get rooms ready for guests. Nowhere is this more evidenced than the Moana-themed rooms found at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort . Attention to detail, teamwork and passion all went into these incredible room renovations.
Josette had this to say about what this heroine represents, “Moana is brave, loyal and she loves her family.” She continues. “And that’s how I care for my ‘ohana here.” Josette went on to say that she considers all guests members of her family.
Nashima added, “One of my favorite things about Moana is how sentimental she is, especially to her family and her grandma.” She added, “And I feel that here [in my heart] as part of this team.”
Discovering wonderful stuff from ‘Fathoms Below’ at The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure – Now we’re heading over to The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure where cast members are getting in on the Princess Week fun with a “Guess That Thingamabob” challenge. Bringing honor to all of EPCOT with Entertainment – Last, but not least, we’re over at the China Pavilion at EPCOT where cast members determine Mulan’s spunk, determination and creativity. Character Captain Aaron and Character Attendant Bethany along with PhotoPass Photographer Ali help bring stories like Mulan’s to live everyday and inspire guests to create their own adventures.
With imagination and storytelling at the forefront of the Disney experience, Disney’s Entertainment team have a very important role from helping guests connect with their favorite characters to capturing that perfect moment so that they can have a memento forever.
“Being able to help facilitate that magic and make those memories that are going to last a lifetime, seeing the tears is the best,” said Aaron. “You’re going to see it in their eyes,” added Bethany. “It just melts you, and I love feeling that way and helping them experience a great trip.”
“I love seeing our guests smile—if they’re smiling, I’m smiling,” Ali shared with a smile. Since she captures photos of our grinning guests, we take it that must be a lot!
