Belle Chosen as Penultimate Princess for World Princess Week
With just one day remaining during World Princess Week, Disney Parks Blog announced this morning that today’s festivities will focus on Belle, the compassionate, strong, independent heroine loved by millions.
The daughter of Maurice, the village’s eccentric inventor, Belle pushes against the societal norms of her village and finds incredible journeys thanks to her favorite hobby: reading.
“Different stories bring her to new places, introduce her to new people, and allow her to see new perspectives. … She years to escape the simplicity of her life and find adventure beyond her provincial town,” according to the Disney Parks Blog post.
Belle’s festivities celebrate the sixth day of World Princess Week, the inagural series of events focused on all things Disney heroines that debuted Monday as part of Disney’s Ultimate Princess Celebration.
Be Our Guest at Parks Worldwide
In true Belle form, an enormous variety of inclusive options exist throughout Disney Parks to mark Belle’s incredible impact. At Walt Disney World, guests can visit the Palais du Cinema in the France pavilion in EPCOT to enjoy a 15-minute film featuring the music of the princess’ classic animated film.
Guests can also sample the grey stuff (it really is delicious) at Be Our Guest, an prix-fixed dining experience at the Beast’s Castle inside of the Magic Kingdom. The French-inspired restaurant immerses guests in a variety of scenes straight from the beautiful film, including the Grand Ballroom, the West Wing, and even Belle’s private library.
Just two weeks ago, Belle returned to the stage at Hollywood Studios in the live entertainment production of “Beauty and the Beast – LIve on Stage,” a Broadway-style spectacular.
For a more low-key way to experience Belle’s grace and charm, head to the Enchanted Rose, a delightful new lounge space at the Grand Floridian. With character touches throughout, this elevated evening choice is truly fit for a princes.
Something There at All of the Disney Parks
The Red Rose Taverne transports guests to Belle’s provincial town at Disneyland, especially with their take on the grey stuff. Guests there can also travel to Downtown Disney to spot a life-sized Belle with her Beast made entirely out of LEGO.
Lumiere and Cogsworth also make an appearance in the awe-inspiring display.
Belle aboard the Disney Dream
Guests on the Disney Dream, which recently returned to the seas, also get to witness the glorious spectacle that is “Beauty and the Beast.” One of the largest stage shows on any of Disney’s cruise ships, the show “boasts more than 1,000 costumes, wigs, shoes, and accessories, as well as 14,500 Swarovski crystals, with an immersive set composed of giant LED walls and high-definition video projections of 23 different locations,” according to the Disney Parks Blog post.
Finding Belle around the World
Tokyo Disney abounds with Belle-themed options, including an all-new land that transports guests to Belle’s simple countryside village in France. The new attraction, “Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast,” immerses guests into the tale as old as time in an original way.
Beginning Sept. 4th, guests can also experience a guided tour of the new attraction in celebration of Tokyo DisneySea’s 20th anniversary. To add to the experience, book a stay at Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Room, available at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel.
Tributes to Belle also exist high atop the Castle of Magical Dreams at Hong Kong Disneyland. Also, guests can grab a selfie with the princess as they wander through Disneyland Paris.
For those visiting Shanghai Disneyland, make sure to catch the puppeteers that bring Belle’s remarkable journey to life each day. There, Lumeire’s Kitchen also delights the senses with a witty meal inside of Shanghai Disneyland Hotel.
Merchandise fit for Belle’s Adventures
Of course, a variety of merchandise choices also released earlier this week, celebrating Belle’s desire to see more of the world and her love of books.
Though some items are park-exclusive, many can be found on shopDisney, so head over there before they sell out. World Princess Week concludes tomorrow, and we can’t wait to see who Disney chooses to celebrate in the final spot.
