Five Awesome Programs Coming Your Way This Weekend
Happy weekend Disney friends! As we head into Friday evening, we here at MickeyBlog thought we’d share with you a handful of programs that you’ll want to be on the lookout for in the days head!

D23 EXPO 2015 – D23 EXPO, the ultimate Disney fan event, brings together all the past, present and future of Disney entertainment under one roof. Taking place August 14-16, this year marks the fourth D23 EXPO at the Anaheim Convention Center and promises to be the biggest and most spectacular yet. (Disney/Image Group LA)
Disney Princess Remixed – An Ultimate Princess Celebration—Disney+
Disney Princess remixed debuted on Disney Channel this evening and should be available to watch throughout the weekend. Narrated by Txunamy Ortiz, this 30 minute special celebrates all of the empowering attributes of the Disney Princess. Kids will love the reimagined performances taking you through some of Disney Royalty’s most important songs.
Txunamy is joined by Dara Reneé, Frankie Rodriguez, Julia Lester, Izabela Rose, Ruth Righi, and Sophia Hammons will perform pop, rock, and R&B remixes of songs from Frozen 2, Beauty and the Beast, The Princess and the Frog, and The Little Mermaid. Grammy® winner Brandy will also debut her music video for “Starting Now,” the anthem for The Walt Disney Company’s year-long event, Ultimate Princess Celebration.
Disney’s Magic Bake-Off—Friday, August 27, at 8 p.m. ET on Disney Channel
It’s all about teamwork and triumphs in this brand new Disney Channel show where three teams of two race against the clock to whip up a Disney Princess-inspired cake. Co-hosts Dara Reneé and Issac Ryan Brown are joined by pastry chef Graciela Gomez to guide the teams through this challenging bake-off. One of the teams will ultimately be named Disney Baking Champion!
Cruella—Friday, August 27, on Disney+
The smash live-action hit starring Emma Stone is set in 1970s London, smack in the middle of the punk rock revolution. A young orphan named Estella befriends a pair of thieves and together they build new lives for themselves. One Day Estella’s flair for fashion captures the attention of a legendary designer but it isn’t long before this sets a chain of events in motion that causes Estella to embrace her wicked side becoming the famous Villainous Cruella!
Vacation Friends—Friday, August 27, on Hulu
This comedy film follows Marcus (played by Lil Rel Howery) and Emily (Yvonne Orji) who meet a thrill seeking couple plaid by Ron (John Cena) and Kyla (Meredith Hagner) during their stay at a resort in Mexico. With Ron and Kyla as an influence, the usually level-headed couple let’s loose on a vacation filled with debauchery.
But it’s not all’s well that ends well as months later Marcus and Emily are horrified when the Ron and Kyla show up at their wedding – uninvited! This show is recommended for adult audiences only!
9/11: One Day in America—Sunday, August 29, at 9 p.m. ET on National Geographic
National Geographic and the 9/11 Memorial Museum have teamed up for this six-part series offering an in-depth account of this fateful day in American history. Featuring archive footage and first-person testimony, One Day in American is one of the most acc powerful, immersive and emotionally charged accounts ever produced. On Sunday, tune into the 2 hour premier which focuses on the firefighters on the scene racing against time to evacuate civilians.
