Celebrate Newest Disney Magic Makers In Honor of World Princess Week
Disney has been celebrating World Princess Week all this week by showcasing Disney Princesses and their course and kindness. Now, it’s time to celebrate the real Disney Magic Makers, the ones who are always there to help when their communities need them, when they need to advocate for someone else, or simply making a moment magical for someone. Keep reading to meet 4 incredible women that embody what a true Disney hero is.
Clarice Sanchez comes from a small Native American community in Sandia Pueblo, New Mexico. She has worked tirelessly to ensure her neighbors have stayed safe from COVID-19. Clarice spearheaded her tribe’s testing, opened a food pantry to ensure no member went hungry, and acted as a coordinator for her pueblo’s emergency response team, all while raising two young girls as a single parent.
Joanie Cullinan is a firefighter in Wellesley, Massachusetts who was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. Despite days feeling fatigued and nauseous, Joanie wasn’t going to sit around and feel sorry for herself. Joanie took direct action to turn her situation into something positive and organized “Shave Your Head for Heroes in Red” which raised $25,000 for firefighters with occupational cancer. Joanie is now cancer-free and is back on the front lines fighting wildfires. Despite her hectic schedule, she still dedicates time to raise awareness of early cancer detection.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit her community, Sarai Childs, a small business owner, organized a massive PPE drive that gave away over 2,000,000 masks. She also oversaw 40 vaccination clinics provide 25,000 vaccines to members of her community. And if all that isn’t enough, in her ‘spare time,’ Sarai rallied her community to raise $30,000 for the Backpacks Program, a nonprofit she runs that provides food to children in need.
Crystal Campbell of Summerville, South Carolina is a physician’s assistant who goes the extra mile to make sure her patients are feeling better. She has found ways to stimulate magic in the little things that can make a big difference. Crystal has been purchasing products to nourish and comfort a patient’s head, as well as bring pudding to a boy who had never tried it before.
To celebrate the magic they’ve sparked, these Disney Magic Makers will enjoy a one-year subscription to Disney+ and a trip to Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate the “Year’s Most Magical Celebration.”
