Jungle Cruise Sign Gets a New Look at Magic Kingdom
Last month, I shared images with you of the new signs going up as part of the big re-imagining and refurbishment happening at the Jungle Cruse in Magic Kingdom!
The sign was in the process of getting a bit of a paint job and all I can say is my how things change!
The background of the sign has been given a bit of a facelift.
Gone is the grungy green background for a cleaner lighter wood finish.
On the signs for the attraction we’ve also noticed that Disney has done away with some of the props like tribal masks in favor of props that are a bit more ‘with the times.’
The words “World Famous” and “Tours” are also new additions to the signage.
These subtle changes are part of a larger re-theming. Disney is removing many of the problematic elements from the ride that many would now deem culturally inappropriate.
The work is being carried out in stages and Disney World has yet to announce a finishing date for the project Similar changes were happening over at Disneyland Resort where the ride officially reopened in its new form on July 16th.
