All of Your Disneyland Magic Key Questions Answered!
The all-new Disneyland Magic Key goes on sale this Wednesday, August 25! The Magic Key is the replacement to Disneyland’s Annual Passholder Program and why it will be similar, there are some difference to know.
There have been a ton of questions about the all-new Disneyland Magic Key and that’s what I’ve put together this article to answer all of those questions before it launches later this week.

How Can I Purchase a Magic Key?
Those interested in purchasing the Magic Key for Disneyland can purchase them through either Disneyland.com or the Disneyland app. They will NOT be available for in-person purchase at the Disneyland Resort.

Is it Mandatory to Purchase my Magic Key When They Go Live on August 25?
You can purchase your Disneyland Magic Key at any time you would like. The first day that they go on sale will just be August 25.

Are Payment Plans Available?
If you are a California Resident, payment plans are available.

Can I Upgrade My Current Theme Park Tickets to a Magic Key?
Most park tickets are eligible to be upgraded to to the Magic Key. Disneyland ticket types that are not eligible for an upgrade include: fully used, or partially used and expired, theme park admission media, complimentary ticket media, special event ticket media, and ticket media stating. California Resident promotional tickets are also also excluded.

How Can I Upgrade My Current Tickets to the Disneyland Magic Key?
Those who have a partially used, unexpired ticket that is eligible to upgrade can do so on the Disneyland app.

How Do You Make Disneyland Theme Park Reservations with A Magic Key?
The type of Magic Key you purchase will determine how many advanced theme park reservations you can make at one time inside of a 90-day window. As an example: The Imagine Key allows pass holders to book up to two theme park reservations in advance. After you enter the park on the first day of you reservation, you can then make another reservation for another day in that 90-day window.
It’s important to note that park reservations can be made for one or both parks, are subject to availability, and black out dates. CLICK HERE to learn more about the different types of Magic Keys available.

Once you have purchased your Pass, you can book your park reservations by following these steps:
- Log in to your account via Disneyland.com or the Disneyland app.
- Select the date you wish to visit and you can then make reservations for one park or both depending on the park availability.
- When you are choosing to visit both parks, you will select the park you would like to start with that day. Park hopping begins at 1 pm and subject to availability. If you arrive after 1 pm, you can start your visit at either park.
- Once you have made your reservations, review and confirm your details.
- If your visit to Disneyland is with your friends and family, you can add their park admission to your account to make reservations as a group!
Are Two Reservations Required If I want to Visit Both Parks in One Day?
Nope! If you make your Magic Key reservation for both Disneyland Park and California Adventure, it will count as just one reservation against your total number of reservation holds.

Is There Any Incentive to Purchase My Magic Key Early?
Yes! If you purchase your Disneyland Magic Key within the first 66 days of them going on sale, you will receive a special charter member welcome package that includes a limited-edition Magic Key pin, button, magnet, and more.
In addition, if you are a Magic Key holder and visit Disneyland Park from September 1 to October 31, 2021, you will have access to a limited-time experience offering a fun photo opp, chagrining stations, and other surprises at the Starcade in Tomorrowland.

When Can I Purchase a Magic Key?
As stated above, the Disneyland Magic Key will be available for purchase on Wednesday, August 25 no earlier than 10 am PST.
