Always a collectible favorite, the next installment in the Stitch line is sure to draw crowds to the popular merchandise locale tomorrow at Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort. Each Stitch so far celebrated a different classic Disney film, and we just love how this month’s release captures so many favorite moments in 1959 animated feature.
With his almost art deco off-set smile, this Stitch playfully swirls a vibrant shade of pink with a pale blue hue. The shade choices mark the fairies debacle over sweet Aurora’s birthday cake color. The ear patterning even quotes the famously swirling debate that entrances two of Briar Rose’s fairy caretakers: Flora’s famous “Make it Pink” and Merryweather’s “Make it Blue.”
The swirling, colorful debate the closes out the film during its incredible waltz scene also takes hold in a mix of blue and pink-tones patches across Stitch’s back.
The patterning throughout the rest of the new plush introduces iconic symbols from the film, including a rose for the eponymous princess and that fated spinning wheel. Hints of vines and ferns also cover Stitch in a nod to the importance of the forest to the young, cursed protagonist.
Of course, no tribute to “Sleeping Beauty” could be complete without a few cascading birthday cake candles, and Stitch certainly knew exactly where to place those.
Sleeping Beauty Stitch Collection on shopDisney
This month’s collection also features as pin of a dancing Stitch as well as a limited edition Magic Band. Perhaps he too waltzes about as he reminisces about friends he meets “once upon a dream.” The collection can be found on shopDisney as well as tomorrow at World of Disney, where guests can purchase the plush.
