The Best Disney Resorts to Stay for the Holidays
The holidays are a magical time to visit Walt Disney World Resort. With the recent announcement of the Very Merriest After Hours, people are planning a visit to Walt Disney World. When visiting Walt Disney World during the holiday season, these are the best resorts to stay during the holidays.
1. The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
The Grand Floridan Resort is Walt Disney World’s flagship resort. It has beautiful Victorian charm and elegance. But nothing beats visiting The Grand Floridian during the holidays. The Grand Floridian is the top resort to visit during the holiday season.

The lobby has a beautiful Christmas tree and the most popular of the gingerbread house displays. The gingerbread house is life sized and extremely popular to visit during the holidays. Last year the gingerbread house did not make an appearance but Disney has announced the gingerbread house displays will be back this holiday season!
2. Wilderness Lodge
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is one of the most uniquely themed resorts in Walt Disney World. It draws inspiration from the American Northwest. The lobby is simply stunning throughout the year but is particularly magical during the holidays.
Wilderness Lodge has a centerpiece Christmas tree in the lobby and also typically has a gingerbread log cabin also displayed. The theming of the resort simply fees cozy and comforting during the holiday season.
3. Animal Kingdom Lodge
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is another stunning resort throughout the year. The Jambo House lobby takes you across the world to an African safari. No where else in the United States can you have Savannah views from your balcony. The lobby has a cozy fireplace and beautiful African architecture.
During the holidays a beautiful African themed tree decorates the lobby. The tree is decorated with African inspired intricate details making it unique amongst the other resorts.
4. Boardwalk Inn
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is one of my favorite Disney resorts. Its turn of the century Atlantic City boardwalk theme is whimsical. Boardwalk Inn and Villas also have a prime location within walking distance to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. It is a great place to stay to visit Epcot’s International Festival of the Holidays.
The boardwalk courtyard features a beautiful outdoor Christmas tree which makes for a beautiful photo opportunity. The lobby features a turn of the century Christmas tree and a gingerbread replica of the boardwalk. The Boardwalk Inn is also within walking distance to the fifth and final hotel on the list, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort.
5. Yacht and Beach Club Resort
Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort is one of the most popular Disney resorts due to Stormalong Bay, the largest pool at Disney owned resort. Yacht and Beach Club is popular during the summer months due to Stormalong Bay, but you should also consider a visit during the holidays.
Yacht and Beach club both feature different theming on their prospective Christmas trees. Beach Club features beautiful detailed beach themed ornaments while Yacht club has nautical themed decorations. In years past, Beach Club has featured a working gingerbread Carousel in the lobby.
