A Myriad of Magical Ways To Celebrate Disney World’s 50th Anniversary
Can you believe that we are under 50 days before Disney kicks off their 50th Anniversary Celebration? We thought what better way to mark the occasion than by sharing with you some of the incredible ways that you can add a bit of 50th Anniversary magic to your getaway!

The World’s Most Magical Celebration
One of the first awesome bits of news we got about this momentous occasion was that “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” will officially kick off on October 1st and would continue for an impressive 18 months.
During the celebration each of the four theme parks will feature stunning new lighting effects that celebrate the beauty of some of Disney World’s most famous landmarks! Décor will also feature the 50th Anniversary EARidescent colorway. In addition, Mickey and Minnie will be sporting dazzling new outfits created just for the celebration.
Royal Makeover of Cinderella Castle
You know something truly special is happening at Walt Disney World the minute you catch sight of Cinderella Castle with its 50th Anniversary makeover. The castle is now adorned with extra sparkle and shine from golden ribbons to ornate bejweled banners. There’s also a new 50th Anniversary Crest hanging proudly over the main entrance.
Disney has also promised that there will be even more decorating before October 1st.

Display of “Fab 50” Friends
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog then you’ll know that Disney is unveiling 50 golden statues across the four theme parks that feature some of our favorite Disney Characters! In preparation for the big day, one of my favorite Fantasyland attractions is even getting a makeover! This spooky season, guests can journey to the Land of the Dead with Miguel and Dante as a scene from Coco is being added to Mickey’s Philharmagic. You can get a first look at this new addition to this 3D attraction by checking out the video below.

Lighting Up The Night
Now, let’s talk fireworks. Magic Kingdom will be celebrating the Anniversary with a new fireworks display. Starting on October 1st, guests will be able to check out Disney Enchantment which features music, enhanced lighting, stunning pyrotechnics and for the first time immersive projection effects the extend beyond Cinderella Castle to encompass Main Street USA.
Moving over to EPCOT, there will be a brand-new nighttime spectacular called Harmonious which will also make its debut the start of October! This nighttime extravaganza will incorporate pyrotechnics, moving fountains, water pageantry, lighting and media. The theme connecting all this magic is the ability of Disney music to inspire people from around the globe! The show will feature new interpretations of Disney songs like you’ve never heard them before.
Those looking for daytime dazzlement will want to head over to Animal Kingdom for KiteTails. This show will take place several times daily starting on October 1st. Performers will fly a rainbow of stunning windcatchers of all shapes and sizes (some as long as 30 feet) for an elaborate three-dimensional celebration of Disney’s animal friends!
Disney Magic from the Moment You Get Off The Plane
The 50th Anniversary Magic will begin the minute guests arrive at Orlando International Airport. Passengers will want to be on the lookout for many exciting touches throughout airport including a wide-spanning art installation in the terminal train stations, a walkthrough of EARidescent light patterns and an immersive photo opportunity with a re-creation of a famous Disney ride vehicle!

Though the 50th Anniversary Celebration is still a few months away, guests can start prepping now thanks to a range of exciting books. From Birnbaum’s famous Walt Disney World guides to a special retrospective of the parks over the last 50 years, titles will start to hit the shelves in September.
