The Most Magical Recycling Initiative Sweeps Across Spain
The most extravagant, Disney-fied new trash cans popped up around Spain this summer, in what may be the most magical recycling initiative we have ever seen!
Disneyland Paris has joined forces with the Spanish non-profit organization Ecovidrio, to help encourage the recycling of glass in major cities across Spain.

This exciting new collaborative initiative has seen the arrival of some hilarious new recycling points throughout the country, and they’re all elaborately themed to represent some of our favorite Disney characters.
If you thought Push the Talking Trash Can was the most magical recycling bin to come out of the Disney Parks, think again! Here, we can see recycling points which look like Goofy, Minnie Mouse, Remy, Hulk, and even a Green Alien from Toy Story!

Each bin displayed a slogan that translates to “Dreams matter more than ever… so does glass recycling!”, which we think is a perfect bridge between Disney inspiration and all-important eco-consciousness.
On the initiative, the Marketing Director of Ecovidrio stated:
“With this initiative, we want to bring the magic of recycling to the young, and not so young, members of the household. At a time when consumption is on the rise during the summer, we must not forget that small gestures such as going to one’s green garbage can every day help a great deal in our fight against climate change,”

The bins were installed between July 13th and August 5th in 120 different points across Spain. 52 of these were in Madrid, with the remainder spread out throughout 17 major Spanish cities including Bilbao, La Coruña, Gijón, Alicante, Tarragona, Gerona, León, Córdoba and Almería.
Disneyland Paris remains dedicated in maintaining a sustainable and environmentally-friendly resort. Whether these themed recycling points will appear in other countries across Europe remains to be seen, but we sure do hope they will!
