Hear the Magical Music of Disney’s ‘Bedknobs and Broomsticks: The Magical Musical’, Premiering This Week!

Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks: The Magical Musical, is preparing to delight audiences with its worldwide premiere this week in the UK.
Based on the classic 1971 movie of the same name, Bedknobs and Broomsticks is set to be a nostalgic and enchanting theatrical treat for Disney fans of all ages.
The musical will feature the timeless, original songs from the movie, written by the legendary Sherman Brothers. This week, in a new video shared by What’s on Stage, we were able to take a sneak peek into the sitzprobe rehearsal room and hear the cast perform the classic songs live, including The Age of Not Believing, Portobello Road, and more.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks is set to commence its tour of the UK and Ireland with the show’s world premiere on August 14th at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle.
From there, the show will run through until May 2022, visiting 28 cities including Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol, Cardiff, Dublin, and Belfast.

Dianne Pilkington will lead the cast as Miss Eglantine Price – the role made famous by Disney Legend Dame Angela Lansbury. Also starring will be Charles Brunton as Emelius Browne, and Conor O’Hara as Charlie.
Candice Edmunds and Jamie Harrison will co-direct, with a book by Brian Hill and additional music and lyrics penned by Neil Bartram.
The story follows the three orphaned Rawlins children, who are sent to live with the witch-in-training Eglantine Price as wartime evacuees from London.
The classic Bedknobs and Broomsticks movie is filled with magic spells and warm nostalgia, and we cannot wait to see how the iconic flying bed is recreated on stage!
