First Look: Riddley Gives Peak Inside Space 220
Walt Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley surprised us all this morning with an incredible first look inside of Space 220, the long-awaited newest dining experience to debut at EPCOT. Just minutes before, Disney Parks Blog announced the opening of the restaurant sometime next month.

“Before reaching our amazing dining room, we need to elevate ourselves 220 miles above the Earth in our first-of-its-kind space elevator,” Riddley says in the Instagram reel.
As expected, the storytelling at Space 220 really sets a new bar for immersive, themed dining experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort.

“Space 220 is a perfect addition to EPCOT continuing our legacy of original storytelling – fantastical experiences rooted in real science and designed with a range of world-class experts that makes you wonder ‘how’d they do that?!'” Riddley said in the Instagram post.

Currently, EPCOT continues to undergo an enormous transformation to bring it into the 21st century. Space 220 sits in what will now be known as World Discovery.

No longer seperated into Future World and World Showcase, the re-imagined EPCOT will be seperated into four “worlds.” The new lands revolve around the following visionary themes: World Celebration, World Discovery, and World Nature along with the classic World Showcase.

“One of my first experiences as a kid was experiencing the Hydrolators – those magical conveyances in The Living Seas Pavilion that took you down to Sea Base Alpha,” Riddley added. “That experience moved me (quite literally) and sparked this magic of possibility we talk about with EPCOT.”
Like much of the motivation behind the EPCOT overhaul, Space 220 certainly builds on Walt Disney’s original goals of the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, including the beloved Hydrolators of Sea Base Alpha.
