MickeyBlog Is at the Newly Reimagined Citricos for Dinner!
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog you’ll know that signature dining restaurant Citricos recently reopened at Disney’s Grand Floridan Resort. The restaurant is now offering a newly updated menu and has been re-themed with an interior that pays tribute to film Mary Poppins Returns.
Greg and Elyssa give this eatery a giant thumbs up. Let’s take a closer look at why!
Let’s start with the décor. The Mary Poppins-inspired details are evident from the moment that you arrive.
Coatracks on display feature Mary’s iconic parrot umbrella as well as some penguins (of course!)
The other coatrack features some additional iconic Mary Poppins items.
We love Mary’s hat which is adorned with with whimsical floral details!
Above you’ll also see Mary’s iconic carpet bag!
The Mary Poppins details are rather understated at Citricos.
They add whimsy but don’t take away from the overall sophistication of the restaurant!
Here’s a closer look at the interior of the dining hall which features bright textiles.
Along with contrasting floral details.
The carpet below makes me think of park cobblestones.
The lighting fixtures are also stunning.
Here’s a look at two of our favorites. We love the whimsical butterflies on the details below.
There is seating for larger groups!
And below is a look at one of the serving areas.
Another elegant detail that we love are the handles on the back of the chairs.
The handles vary depending on the style of the chairs.
Okay, so enough about the decor. Let’s move on to the food!
For appetizers, our MickeyBloggers tried the Strawberry Salad. This beauty is made up of Chammomile-Infused Goat Cheese, Frisee Lettuce, Bacon Vinaigrette and spiced Sunflower Seeds.
The other appetizer tried was the Sweet Corn Bisque. It was made with Pickled Fennel-Popcorn and Fennel Oil.
Both of these starters were delicious and we would absolutely recommend!
For Mains, Greg and Elyssa tried the Guava BBQ Short Ribs – This delectable dish comes with aged Cheddar Creamy Grits, Roasted Poblano, Curtido Slaw and Brussels Sprouts.
Above is the Oak-grilled 12-oz Prime New York Strip. It is served with Potato Puree, Broccolini, Cipollini Jam, and a Bordelais sauce.
Above is the a look at the delectable dessert menu.
To finish off their meal, Greg and Elyssa chose the Blackberry Tartlette.
It’s comprised of a Lemon Bavarian and Blackberry Mousse enrobed in Glacage with violet syrup.
Next up was the Chocolate Torte. It’s made with Chocolate Financier, Dark Chocolate Ganache, Morello Cherries and Vanilla Mascarpone Chantilly.
For those looking for a superb evening meal, Citricos definitely gets Greg and Elyssa’s seal of approval. They said their meal was wonderful from start to finish.
You can find a complete look at the menu here. Reservations at Citricos are strongly encouraged and can be made via the My Disney Experience app.
