Four More Magic Makers Announced For Disney World’s 50th Anniversary
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know Disney World is celebrating those that make a difference in their local communities as part of Magic Makers. Under the program, Disney will pick 50 Magic Makers that have been submitted by their families, friends or communities. These lucky 50 win a trip to Walt Disney World.
Over the past few weeks. we’ve seen a few Magic Makers announced and today we’re coming to you with 4 more! Let’s take a look:
Rogelio Tadeo of Clearfield, UT
Rogelio is a local mail carrier but to his community, he is so much more! He takes time to meet and engage with every family he serves. He also goes out of his way to make sure that packages are delivered on time and remain safe. He’s also been known to work after hours in order to meet his communities needs. These little gestures like taking down a yard sale sign, cutting down a fallen tree or making dinner for those in need is what makes Ragelio on of Disney World’s select Magic Makers.
Daniel Souza of Chicago, IL
This vet-tech from Chicago works at a local animal hospital while also being a full-time college grad. During his time at the hospital, he has helped vaccinate over 200 rescued cats and dogs that arrive from shelters to prepare them for adoption. In addition, when a fire burned down a home in Daniel’s neighborhood, Daniel himself offered to foster 5-kittens when they lost their mom in the fire. This included bottle-feeding them every five hours.
We’ve got a lot of animal friends at Disney which is why we love the decision to make Daniel Souza a Magic Maker!
Stephanie Buckridge of Visalia, CA
With kids stuck at home during the COVID crisis, one local librarian used her time to bring the magic of stories directly to kids in their community. This started with virtual storytimes but was soon expanded to include crafts, magic shows and more! It was this program that kept kids engaged during the pandemic and the program has since been adapted to encompass and additional 17 branches.
Brandon Baker of Payson, UT,
Last, but not least, is Brandon Baker who is a local celebrity. For 30 years, Brandon has stood on the corner of his parents property and will wave at anyone who will pass by. He enjoys bringing a smile to people’s days and local residents say when they leave town they always look forward to Brandon welcoming him back. Brandon shows how even the smallest acts of kindness can have a positive impact and for that reason Brandon is a Magic Maker.
There’s still time to nominate the magic makers in your local community. Each of the 50 selected will enjoy a one-year subscription to Disney+ and a trip to Walt Disney World.
