A Vegetarian’s Guide to the 2021 Food and Wine Festival
Now that the 2021 Food and Wine Festival has officially been underway for a few weeks, I’ve had multiple chances to taste my way through the vegetarian offerings! It’s only after thorough research that I write my Festival guides and in this case, that research was delicious.
I’ve narrowed down my top 4 favorite must-try vegetarian items at this year’s Food and Wine Festival and even made sure to include a few 100% vegan options on the list too. Let’s get started…I hope you’re hungry!
4- Brazilian Cheese Bread (Pao de Queijo)
A returning Festival favorite, the Brazilian Cheese Bread is the most approachable option on the list. This is a great snack to enjoy when the mid-afternoon munchies kick in! The light airiness of the dough makes it light enough to eat in the heat, but provides a flavor-packed cheesy boost of energy that will help propel you to dinner!

I love this option not only for vegetarians, but also for kids! The chewiness of the bread makes this unlike any regular dinner roll you’ve ever had and I guarantee you’re going to want more than one order if you plan to share!
3-Tofu Pho
NEW IN 2021!
New to this years’ Food and Wine Festival is the Noodle Exchange kiosk. Featuring a slew of different pho options, I of course went with the vegetarian/vegan pho. If you’re looking to fill up on Festival dishes, this one isn’t for you. But if you’re in the mood for a blast of Asian flavor during your World Showcase travels, I highly recommend the tofu pho!
The pho I was served was on the brothy side, but it was a super tasty option that allowed me to experience a brand new booth! I’ll admit that I did not try this dish until I visited the Festival at night when it was a tad cooler, so you may want to save your tofu pho for a pre-fireworks snack!
2- Apple Crumble Tart
NEW IN 2021!
You’ll find another brand-new, vegetarian-friendly offering inside Appleseed Orchard! When the afternoon sun starts to feel overwhelming, step into (the air-conditioned!) Appleseed Orchard for a much-deserved break. Inside, you’ll find one of my new Festival favorites- the Apple Crumble Tart!
The crust on this tart was what initially struck my fancy, as it help up enough to cut through it without crumbling but then proceeded to absolutely melt in my mouth. I’ve found a lack of vegetarian dessert options at this year’s Festival, so make sure you don’t miss this delicious find!
1- Everything from Earth Eats
My #1 choice for vegetarians and vegans at the 2021 Food and Wine Festival is the “Impossible” brand-hosted “Earth Eats” kiosk! Everything on this menu is made with vegans/vegetarians/and plant based folks in mind, so feel free to go ahead and order one of everything!
The Impossible chili is strikingly similar to the real thing. The perfect blend of those classic chili spices seamlessly blend with Impossible’s plant-based meat that makes the chili a very hearty option. Returning from years past is the wasabi slider- one of my all-time favorites at the Food and Wine Festival every year! The burger- made from Impossible meat- is garnished with a crunchy slaw and an unbelievably convincing vegan wasabi ‘cream’ that gives the whole slider a truly unique flavor.
Let me know if you’ll be trying any of these items on your trip to the 2021 Food and Wine Festival! Comment with your answer and let’s start a conversation!
